Hello Bluebird Stamps - Holiday Release - Snowman Competition

 

It is Day 2 of Previews for the Holiday Release from Hello Bluebird Stamps.  The release goes live at 7pm MST on October 23rd.

My card today reveals the adorable Snowman Competition stamp set which I have paired with the formerly released Snowy Sky Scene Die.   Snowman Competition is a large 6 x 8 inch stamp set and packed with cute images to create endless snowman building scenes.

I die cut the background and ink blended with Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide Inks, creating a soft but bright focal point.  I adhered these sections to a white card base with the lower layer of snow popped up on foam tape.

I stamped and coloured the images using the following Copic markers:-

Snowman & Snowball - C5, C3, C1, C0, C00, R000

Bunny - E55, E31, E41

Squirrel - T5, T4, T3, T2, T1, C0, E0000

White Goose - C5, C3, C0, E000

Green - G19, G05, YG13

Snowman Scarf - RV14, RV42, T5, T2

Images were die cut and applied with foam tape and a few highlights were added with a white gel pen plus to the bunny's scarf and polka dots and stripes on the scarves.

I added some snowflakes made using the essential Frosty Flakes Die and of course the sentiment which is one of several included in the stamp set.

Feed The Birds - Hello Bluebird Stamps

I'm excited to be sharing the first of my cards for Hello Bluebird Stamps today and their Black Friday release which goes live tonight Thanksgiving night at MIDNIGHT MST.   This stamp set is called Feed The Birds.  You can view more of the release on the Hello Bluebird blog now including new stand-alone dies.  Comment on the post there to be eligible to win one of two $50 gift certificates to the shop.  Winners will be announced later this evening.  Good luck!

To create this card I first used Distress Oxide Ink in Victorian Velvet and ink blended the upper portion of the Snowy Sky Scene Die softly.   The snowy ground was ink blended delicately with Speckled Egg.  The pieces were were adhered to a white panel of cardstock either directly or with foam tape behind with the lowest portion.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped my images from Feed The Birds using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.   The images were coloured using a limited colour palette, fussy cut and backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.

For the finishing touches a white gel pen highlighted a few points, the sentiment was stamped and applied and I used Stickles glitter in Crystal to add some twinkle to the snow.

My Snowman - Hello Bluebird

Hello Friends!

So excited to be here blogging this new card today for Hello Bluebird who have an adorable new release Nov 2nd at 7pm MST.   My card today features 'My Snowman' one of the brand new stamp sets.

To create this scene I first took the Snowy Sky Scene die from a previous release and die cut white cardstock.  I used Distress Oxide Ink in Speckled Egg to softly ink blend each of the 3 sections the die cut.  I backed the top portion with white glitter cardstock adhered it to a white cardstock base and then the section beneath it was backed with a single layer of regular dimensional tape and applied and the bottom layer with a thicker dimension tape and then added.   This was then set aside.

I grabbed some Copic friendly cardstock and stamped the adorable images from My Snowman using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.  I Copic coloured the images using a somewhat limited and repeated colour palette.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and I then fussy cut the images.

I stamped the sweet sentiment on to a sentiment tag using Cherry Red ink by Gina K Designs.

I played around with all the die cut pieces to find the perfect arrangement and then adhered them to the scene using dimensional tape again.

I believe you need this stamp set in your life and I hope you treat yourself.  Don't miss the beginning of the release as soon as it goes live, things can sell out fast!!!  You have been warned!

Winter Woods Overlay Die - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hello and thank you for joining me on my blog today for this new card featuring the Winter Woods Overlay Die from Hello Bluebird Stamps.  Also used in this project is the Snowy Sky Scene Die and the sentiment is from the Tis The Season sentiment set and the beautiful Frosty Flakes die too.



To create this card I first die cut a panel of white cardstock using the Snowy Sky Scene Die.   I ink blended using Distress Ink in Ice Spruce and adhered these die cuts to a 110lb white cardstock base.  I took another panel of white cardstock and die cut the Winter Woods Overlay Die and glued this to the background.



A few weeks ago I made a half dozen of the snowmen from the Winter Woods Overlay die so that I could apply the snowman to several cards this holiday season.  No stamping required you just die cut the snowman, colour the pieces in any way you wish then glue them all back together.  I used Copic markers for mine.   He was adhered to the scene.

To finish up this simple card I die cut several of the Frosty Flakes - I always have many on hand when I'm creating my seasonal cards so that they are ready to go.  These were adhered with a tiny bit of glue just in the centre so that the tips of the snowflakes could be teased upwards to look more dimensional.



Finally and to pick up the red used on snowman I stamped the sentiment using red ink on to a strip of cardstock and adhered that in place too.  Since the card was intended for my father in law I wanted to keep it simple and slightly masculine and therefore it is glitter and sequin free but of course you could adorn yours as much as you like!

O Christmas Tree - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hello there!  I'm sharing another card today using O Christmas Tree and the Snowy Sky Scene Die from the brand new release.



To make this very dimensional card, I first of all die cut a panel of white cardstock using the Snowy Sky Scene die.  This becomes 3 sections and I ink blended the sky portion using Distress Oxide in Tumbled Glass.  I'd already predetermined my layout and therefore I barely inked the focal point because I wanted to highlight it and draw the eye to the centre.

The sky portion was adhered directly to my 110lb white cardstock base. The upper snow hill was applied backed with regular dimensional foam tape and the lowest one was applied with thick dimensional tape.  You could always do a double layer of regular foam tape of course!  This adds some nice depth and will help with perspective and the card just feels impressively substantial in the recipients hands.



On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped the images from O Christmas Tree with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them with Copic markers, I was going for a modern twist on retro colours. All elements were die cut and applied to the scene with more foam tape.

Finishing up the scene, I stamped the sentiment to a strip of cardstock and applied that and then I got out my Stickles glitter and applied glitter in and around the animals as if they've been turning up the snow a little as they congregate to admire the Christmas tree, providing that essential Christmassy twinkle.

First Snow - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hi!  It's a GOOD day for me, it is always a good day when I'm revealing new release items for Hello Bluebird Stamps.  The new release goes live at 7pm MST on the 28th of October.



This card also features the new Snowy Sky Scene Die which I used on a panel of smooth white cardstock and ink blended in Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass adding colour to each of the 3 die cut sections.  I adhered this 3 sections to a white glitter cardstock A2 panel which in turn was adhered to a 110lb white cardstock base.

I used Stickles glitter in 'Crystal' to add 'drippy' 'icicle style twinkle to the top edges of each snow hill.   This was set aside to dry.



On Strathmore Bristol Smooth the characters from First Snow were stamped using Archival Ink in Potting Soil.  They were watercolour painted, fussy cut (but there are coordinating dies), backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen.  There are several critters in this stamp set ... all delightful!

The Let It Snow sentiment from the same scene die was die cut 4 times and each die cut was applied to the next with glue and finally glued in place to the background panel.



To finish out the card I added some snowflakes that were die cut using Frosty Flakes from a previous release and you absolutely need to have these in your stash, they are so pretty and you can layer them up.  My larger flake in the top right hand corner is white glitter cardstock with regular white cardstock on top and it is so pretty.  I glued my snowflakes in place with just a little glue in the centre and then teased the edges of the flakes up with my fingers to create a little light dimension.

At first glance this is a cool and simple card looking card and it isn't technically difficult to make at all but there so much sparkling magic when it is handled in the light, I've been fascinated by sparkle since I was knee high to a grasshopper!
