Purple Onion Designs - Flappy's Christmas Delivery

Hello friends, a warm welcome to my blog where today I'm sharing how I made this Christmas card for Purple Onion Designs featuring the lovely 'Flappy's Christmas Delivery' stamp image illustrated by Chilliezgraphy by Pei.

I started by die cutting two deckle edged panels using the Hello Bluebird Stamps 'Nesting Deckle Mini Slimline Die'.   I then stamped the image on the smaller panel along with the sentiment from Holiday Time Sentiment Stamp Set.  I stamped using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.

I stamped the image once more on masking paper.  I fussy cut this image and layered it over the image I'd stamped on the panel.  I used Cornflower Ink by The Stamp Market to ink blend softly around the masked image and I spattered on some snow using white acrylic paint loosened a with a drop or two of water.  I removed the mask and began to colour the image using the following Copic marker combinations:-

Flappy - C5, C3, C1, C0, C00
Scarf - G19, YG67, YG45, YG41, E77
Pink - RV63, RV52, RV10
Brown - E43, E41, E40
Blush - R22, R21, R20, R00
Shadow/Footprint - W3, W1, W0

I glazed Flappy's nose with a black glaze gel pen and then highlighted a few points.

To complete the card I used the white gel pen to dot in snow over the image.  I backed the decorative panel with white craft foam and applied it to the larger deckle panel and then to a slightly smaller card base so that you can really see the deckle edge.

Another Christmas card complete!

Purple Onion Designs - Christmas Igloo

A warm welcome to my blog and this new card I've created for Purple Onion Designs featuring a stamp image illustrated by Chiliezgraphy by Pei called 'Christmas Igloo'.  This card also features the Stitched Hillside Border Die and Snow Flurries Backdrop Die both by Lawn Fawn.

I started by ink blending my night sky filled with Aurora Borealis.   To do this I took a white panel of cardstock and I first applied streaks or blobs of Twisted Citron and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks.  I then came in with Chipped Sapphire in all areas and then I came in with Black Soot.   In reality these colours aren't quite as pungent as they have photographed, it's more realistic in person.

I created the hillside border using the Lawn Fawn die mentioned above and I glued it to the background.  Over this I glued the Snow Flurries die cut created from sturdy white cardstock.  I set this to one side.

I stamped the Christmas Igloo image and coloured with the following Copic markers:-

Polar Bear - E41, E40, C3, C1, C00
Igloo - BG70, C1
Penguins - T6, T5, Y19, YR09
Blushes - R22, R21, R20, R00
Hat and Scarf - V17, V04, V12

I added highlights and a polka dot design on the hat using a white gel pen and I emphasised eyes and the polar bear's nose with a black glaze pen and then fussy cut the image which I backed with foam tape and adding to the background.

To complete the card I added silver jewel type embellishments to the centres of the snowflakes of the frame and I added gold Stickles glitter to the garland of stars they are adorning the igloo with.  Last but not least I stamped the sentiment which is from Hello Bluebird and applied this under the image with more foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by!

Pink & Main - November Release - Snow Family

Hello friends!  Welcome to my blog and a new card that I've created as a guest designer to help launch the wonderful November release from Pink & Main.  The release is available to shop so don't waste any time and risk missing out on your favourites from the amazing new list of products!

I chose to showcase the adorable new 'Snow Family' stamp set together with it's coordinating die, perfect for so many of your Christmas and Winter themed cards.

I started by taking a white A2 panel of cardstock and I die cut it using the Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set by Alex Syberia Designs.  I took a panel of cardstock from Whimsy Stamps 'Blurry Flurries' paper collection and I used a smaller die from the Quilted Rectangles Die Set to die cut that.  I backed the smaller panel with white craft foam and adhered it to the white panel, then to my card base.

I stamped the Snow Family image using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa and I coloured using the following Copic marker combinations:-

Snowman bodies - C3, C1, C0, BG11, YG09, YG04
Blushes - R22, R21, R20, R00
Pink - RV19, RV06
Yellow - Y21, C5, C3, C1, C0
Brown - E49, E77, E44, E43
White - C3, C1, C0

I highlighted one or two points with a white gel pen and then die cut the image using the coordinating die.  The image was backed with foam tape and applied to the background.

To complete this sweet scene, I stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set and die cut using it's coordinating die and also applied with foam tape.  Last but not least I applied 3 different sizes of sparkling clear sequins as pretty accents.

I appreciate you stopping by today, I'll be back before you know it with something new.  Happy crafting!

Purple Onion Designs - Poinsettia Love

Welcome to my blog and a new card for Purple Onion Designs that features a new image from Chilliezgraphy by Pei called Poinsettia Love which forms part of the newest release.  To create this card I created some mats.  An A2 white, a slightly smaller red and I die cut some Poinsettia patterned cardstock from my stash to give it the faux stitched edge.  All mats were glued together, backed with a panel of white craft foam and adhered to a white A6 card base.

I used the Nesting Oval Die set from Hello Bluebird stamps.  I cut the large oval from heavyweight vellum cardstock and the smaller from white cardstock.  I used Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink to ink blend the focal point, I added a little snow using a stylus dipped in white acrylic paint.  The ovals were glued together then to the background panel.

I stamped the sweet Poinsettia Love image using black ink and coloured using the following Copic marker combinations:-

Skunk - T6, T5, T4, T3, C3, C1
Green - G29, G28, YG67, YG07
Red - R89, R39, R29, R24

I fussy cut the image and applied it to the ink blended area using dimensional foam tape.

I highlighted a few points and used a black glaze pen to make the skunk's nose shiny and I dotted in a design on the scarf.

I stamped the sentiment found here and applied it with foam tape and then added some die cut snowflakes from my stash each with a sparkling clear sequin in the centre and with that, this card was complete.

Thanks for stopping by!

I highlighted with a white gel pen, fussy cut the image, backed it with foam tape and applied it to the background offset to the right hand side.

I tied some red/white baker's twine around the card and as I formed a bow I pulled in a little gift tag that I'd stamped LET IT SNOW on using Lipstick ink by The Stamp Market.  Behind this I tucked some glittered white sprigs of fir which are little die cuts from a set by Hello Bluebird Stamps.  I adhered these in place.  I turned over the panel and backed it with white craft foam and adhered the whole thing to a white A6 card base.

Last, but never least with my Winter cards, I dipped a stylus into white acrylic paint and dotted in the snow exactly where I wanted it to be throughout the scene.  Card done!

I fussy cute the image keep some snowy ground around them, I backed the image with foam tape and applied it to the bottom of the vellum and again wrapped the 'wings' around the back and secured.  I then glued the panels to my card base.

I used a black glaze pen to emphasise eyes and noses and paw pads, then I highlighted sparingly with a white gel pen.  I stamped the sentiment speech bubble and  and applied with foam tape.  To finish it all off I added the snow using a stylus dipped into white acrylic paint (I like Dr. Ph.Martin's Bleed Proof White).

Purple Onion Designs - Cozy Christmas

Today I'm revealing my first card as a guest designer for Purple Onion Designs brand new Christmas release.   This absolutely adorable stamp image is called 'Cozy Christmas' and it was illustrated by Pei of Chilliezgraphy.  I have also used the 'Vintage Postcard Set' which is perfect for all of us who love the postcard look to our projects.  It is hard to explain the appeal but for me it always lends a beautiful charm.

To create this card I started by using the Postcard Details Die by The Greetery, together with their Postal Modern stamp set.  I used the die to die cut an A2 white cardstock panel.  I used some of the stamp images from the stamp set to add some details.  All stamping on this card was done using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.  I then stamped using images from the Vintage Postcard Set and I used a couple of older sentiments from Purple Onion to form the HAPPY HOLIDAY Celebrate the season message.

I took a stencil from my stash that would give me a snow line.  I placed it at the bottom of the postcard and above it I softly ink blended using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.

I stamped and Copic coloured the Cozy Christmas image, here are the colours used:-

Logs - E31, W3, W1, W0
Fire - YR04,  Y38, Y000

Once dry, I attached the postcard scene to my card base and then it was complete!

Hello Bluebird Stamps - Frosty Friends

I had some time to work ahead on some Christmas cards and opted to use some loved older stamps from Hello Bluebird but please keep in mind that these older stamp sets have been retired.  I've used Frosty Friends along with it's companion die and I also used the Nesting Ovals Die which can be found in HB's Essentials section on the site.

I created several panels of cardstock in decreasing sizes and in tones that worked with the top panel of patterned cardstock selected from my stash.  These were glued in stacks then to the card base.

I die cut two nesting ovals from sturdy vellum and a size smaller in sturdy white cardstock.  To create a background to set the scene I stamped one of the tree images multiple times and then coloured with Copic markers to tone with the patterned panel.  I glued the ovals together and adhered them to the patterned panel.

I stamped the images from Frosty Friends and coloured with the following Copic markers:-

Snowman - C3, C1, C0
Reindeer - E44, E43, E42, E41, E40
Polar Bear - C3, C1, C00, E40
Red - R39, R29, R27
Green - G17, YG09
Top Hat - T6, T5, T4, T2

I die cut the images using the companion dies and adhered them to the background with dimensional foam tape.

I highlighted with a white gel pen and then I used a stylus and white acrylic paint to dot in the snow through the background and across the sweet images.

Last but not least I selected a sentiment from the stamp set, stamped it on a strip and applied this with foam tape and I glued a few sparkling clear sequins to the upper left and lower right corners.

Thank you for stopping by!
