Hi, welcome to my blog and to this new winter themed card that uses First Snow, Frosty Flakes and the Gallery Frame #4 Die by Hello Bluebird Stamps.
To make these reindeer creating snow angels card. I first use the die to cut the snow angel shape 3 times out of glitter cardstock. I then placed this glitter panel over a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock in my Misti and I placed the stamp images within the die cut opening and stamped using Ink On 3 ink for no line watercolour painting. I repeat this 2 more times for the other openings.
I watercolour painted the images using Kuretake Zigs, highlighted points with a white gel pen and adhered the panel to a card base. I went over the snow angel edge lines with a silvery/gold gel pen. The glitter panel was backed with dimensional foam tape and layered over the top and the frame was die cut and backed with more foam tape and also applied. Super chunky, dimensional card!
To finish the card I die cut several snowflakes from the Frosty Flakes Die and applied them with a sparkling clear sequin in the centre for some extra twinkle. Finally, the sentiment was stamped and applied with yet more foam tape (I won't lie .... I get through this stuff)!!!!
Hello! I have a new card today for Hello Bluebird Stamps featuring the adorable stamp set called First Snow. Also used in this project is the Hill and Dale die for the snow hills and the sentiment is from Typed Christmas. To make this card I created the background using Copic markers then splattered it with white acrylic paint and finally I applied large drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White. This was set aside to dry for several hours. Once dry I die cut two hills using Hill and Dale. These were applied to the background panel after using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to edge them. Once in place I used Stickles in 'Crystal' to make the glistening edge. On Strathmore Bristol Smooth I stamped the critters from First Snow with Archival Ink. I watercolour painted them, highlighted points with a white gel pen and die cut the images. They were backed with foam tape and applied to the scene. To finish, I stamped the sentiment from Typed Christmas on to some pale pink cardstock and applied it with foam tape and I applied a few sparkling clear sequins into the sky area for some final sparkle. Thanks for stopping by, see you next time! Nicky x
Hi! It's a GOOD day for me, it is always a good day when I'm revealing new release items for Hello Bluebird Stamps. The new release goes live at 7pm MST on the 28th of October. This card also features the new Snowy Sky Scene Die which I used on a panel of smooth white cardstock and ink blended in Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass adding colour to each of the 3 die cut sections. I adhered this 3 sections to a white glitter cardstock A2 panel which in turn was adhered to a 110lb white cardstock base. I used Stickles glitter in 'Crystal' to add 'drippy' 'icicle style twinkle to the top edges of each snow hill. This was set aside to dry. On Strathmore Bristol Smooth the characters from First Snow were stamped using Archival Ink in Potting Soil. They were watercolour painted, fussy cut (but there are coordinating dies), backed with foam tape and applied to the scene. Points were highlighted with a white gel pen. There are several critters in this stamp set ... all delightful! The Let It Snow sentiment from the same scene die was die cut 4 times and each die cut was applied to the next with glue and finally glued in place to the background panel. To finish out the card I added some snowflakes that were die cut using Frosty Flakes from a previous release and you absolutely need to have these in your stash, they are so pretty and you can layer them up. My larger flake in the top right hand corner is white glitter cardstock with regular white cardstock on top and it is so pretty. I glued my snowflakes in place with just a little glue in the centre and then teased the edges of the flakes up with my fingers to create a little light dimension. At first glance this is a cool and simple card looking card and it isn't technically difficult to make at all but there so much sparkling magic when it is handled in the light, I've been fascinated by sparkle since I was knee high to a grasshopper! I'll be back tomorrow with another new release card! Sign up to be emailed and don't miss another post! Nicky x
