Mixing Up your Hello Bluebird Stamps

I have a new card today for Hello Bluebird Stamps.  You may already be aware how well Hello Bluebird's stamps mix and match and it is fun to build new scenes by pulling from many of your stamp sets as I have done here.

To create this card I first stamped the background image from Storybook Friends.  I stamped with pale grey ink so that I could do a no line Copic coloured background which I then diffused the look of by layering over with a piece of vellum.    I glued it down with a line of glue under where I knew my frame would go and thus hide it.

I die cut some lovely apple green cardstock using the Gallery Frame #2 Die.  I backed this die cut with foam tape and applied it to the background.

I popped the framed background in my Misti.   I chose the sentiment from Strawberry Jam, centred it in the upper portion of the frame and stamped twice.  I then attached the panel to my sturdy card base.

I stamped the bunny from Meadow Bunnies, the little girl and bird from Picked For You and butterflies are from other sets.    I coloured these images with Copic markers.   Here are my colours:-

Blues - B91, B93, B95, B97
Whites - W2, W0
Bunny - E44, E43, E42, E0000, R21, R20, R00
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00
Hair - E44, E42, E0000

I die cut my images using the coordinating dies and then backed them with more foam tape and applied them.

For the finishing touches I got out my gel pens and I dotted the girl's shirt with a bright pink and highlighted points with a white gel pen on all images.

I appreciate you visiting my blog and will be back soon with fresh inspiration!

Happy crafting!

Blowing Leaves Background Stamp - Hello Bluebird Stamps

For too long now the Hello Bluebird Stamps background stamps have been out of stock.  Well friends they are about to be re-stocked in a new release and they'll be re-releasing as clear stamps all of their former designs which means they will be in stock all the time from this point onwards.   All the old favourites are coming back AND the release will also have some brand new background scene stamps so you can put your favourite HB characters into pretty new settings.

Spring has sprung outside and down below in the burrow where the bunnies live in their sweet burrow there is a birthday party underway!

My card today uses the Blowing Leaves background stamp and I've used it as pretty wallpaper in the bunnies sweet burrow using the Cozy Burrow Scene Die and the bunnies are from Meadow Bunnies.  Other elements in the card are from Moose and Friends, Cozy Christmas Eve and Snow Play.

To create this card I first die cut the Cozy Burrow Scene Die and I adhered the frame portion to an A2 panel of cardstock.   All of the other pieces that make up the scene were variously ink blended except for the 'wallpaper' portion which I stamped with the Blowing Leaves BG stamp and then antiqued using Distress Oxides in Antique Linen and Tea Die.  After everything was coloured I methodically pieced together all the components starting from the bottom up, glueing in place within the frame.

I stamped my Meadow Bunnies using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa and coloured my images with Copic markers, highlighting a few points with a white gel pen before die cutting.

I played around finding a nice arrangement for the bunnies and when I was happy I backed each piece with foam tape and applied for some lovely dimension.

To finish the card I decided to add a secondary frame on top of the first for a slightly more finished look.  This is just a frame from my stash.   I used gel pens to add some bright interest to the grass layer above ground and added flowers by hand.  I also stamped the sentiment and applied it.  Below ground I finished up with a few sequin accents for that essential twinkle.

The possibilities with these background stamps are endless and they are well worth adding to your HB collection.

Happy crafting!

Meadow Bunnies - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hi,  I've got a new card today for Hello Bluebird Stamps that combines Meadow Bunnies with the cloud focal point image from the Besties stamp set.

To create this card I took a panel of Copic friendly cardstock and I stamped the cloud from Besties with Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.  I added a little grey contouring to the cloud using Copic markers C00 and CO.  I stamped the image again onto masking paper, fussy cut the shape and lay it down over the first stamping and ink blended around the cloud with Distress Oxide Ink in Tumbled Glass and I splashed on some Broken China that was mixed with a drop of water to loosen it.  I also ink blended with 'Mowed Lawn'.  The mask was removed and reserved for another time.  I coloured the flowers and die cut the panel.

On more Copic paper I stamped the bunny and birds from Meadow Bunnies and Copic coloured each image then fussy cut and backed with foam tape and applied.  The sentiment was stamped beneath the scene.

This panel was adhered to a cornflower blue panel of cardstock which was backed with white craft foam and then applied to another die cut panel and attached to a cardstock base.

Such a sweet and simple scene doesn't need too much embellishing and so I finished the card with just a few sparkling clear sequins and with that the card was complete.

Meadow Bunnies & Pathway - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hi!  Today's card for Hello Bluebird Stamps uses the new Pathway background scene stamp and some more of those Meadow Bunnies that I used in a recent card but couldn't fit them all in!

To create this card i stamped the Pathway background stamp onto Copic friendly cardstock and coloured it with Copic markers.  I fussy cut along the horizon (including the tree) and backed it with foam tape and applied it over a panel that I had softly ink blended with Seedless Preserves and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks.  For this soft look I used Clarity Stencil Brushes which gives you a pastel version of these highly saturated inks.

On more Copic cardstock I stamped and Copic coloured my bunnies and the balloon and party hat and bows come from the new sets Party On The Farm and Little Painters.  They were fussy cut, backed with one or two layers of foam tape and applied to this dimensional scene.

I dotted in texture and floral dots too and stamped the sentiment from Party On The Farm and backed it with foam tape and adhered.

To finish the scene points were highlighted with a white gel pen and water droplet type embellishments were glued in place using Ranger Multi Medium Matte which dries perfectly clear which is what you need with these clear accents.  The whole panel was applied to a 110lb cover, white cardstock card base and with that the card was complete.

Happy crafting!

Meadow Bunnies - New Release from Hello Bluebird Stamps

The long wait is over and Hello Bluebird has a brand new release available to purchase, it will go live at 7pm MST on April, 9th.  Be there!

The first card I'm previewing features 'Meadow Bunnies' and the background is called 'Pathway'.

This card features a watercolour painted background.  I stamped the Pathway image using Ink on 3 and watercolour painted using Kuretake Zigs and Tombow ABTs for a no line affect.  This panel was then die cut with a stitched edge from my stash and attached to a card base.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped out my images from Meadow Bunnies.   I coloured them with Copic markers E41, E42, E55 and E44.  I blushed their cheeks with R30 and R20 and highlighted some points with a white gel pen.  They were fussy cut (dies are coming a little later) and backed them with either a single or double layer of foam tape and applied them to the background scene.

I used a bright orange gel pen and dotted in a few 'flowers' and stamped and applied the sentiment.  I decided for this one no other embellishment was necessary and with that the card was complete.

Here's a little look at my bunny colouring below.  I didn't manage to get all of those cuties on to my card so I'm sure the extras will crop up in a future project!

Take a moment and visit the Hello Bluebird blog today and comment for a chance at winning the GIVEAWAY which will be announced just prior to the release.
