My Favorite Things - Let Your Hair Down

Welcome to my blog and a new project for MFT Stamps featuring 'Let Your Hair Down' which is illustrated by Tiddly Inks and one of my favourites!  I've used:-

I started by using the Rectangles Die-namics and creating 3 panels in decreasing sizes from patterned and plain white cardstock.  With the smallest one I ink blended for sky and grass and distress with splashes of water.  Each panel was glued to the next and then to a plain white A2 panel, then to the card base and set to one side.

I stamped the images from Let Your Hair Down and coloured them with the following Copic markers:-

Skin - E33, E11, E21, E00
Hair - YR30, E55, E87
Shorts - C3, C1, C0
Top and Birds - RV06, RV04, RV02, RV10, R000
Branch - E87, E44, E43, E42, YG13, YG00

I die cut and highlighted with a white gel pen and applied to the blended background panel with dimensional foam tape.  I also stamped the sentiment on a sentiment strip and also used foam tape to apply.   Card done!

To kick things off I masked a line and ink blended above the mask using Summer Splash ink by MFT creating a soft focal point.  I stamped the sentiment then trimmed the A2 panel down a little, backed it with white craft foam and applied it to a panel of Caribbean Sea cardstock which nicely frames it.

I stamped the main image from You Make My Heart Race and coloured it with the following Copic marker combinations:-

Scooter - V09, V17, V15, RV25
Tires - T5, T3, T2, T0
Dress and Shoes - BG49, BG57, BG13, BG32
Hair - E50, E41, E42, E44
Skin - E33, E11, E21, E00, R21, R20, R000

I highlighted points especially on the scooter then die cut the image and applied with foam tape.

For a simple finishing garnish I applied a few white Nuvo drops.

Hope you join the challenge, fully details for all of MFT's challenge entries can be found on their website.

I took the negative cut from the arch and ink blended it with Pine Needles and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks and then used white acrylic paint and a stylus to dot in some snow.

The sentiment was stamped then I backed the frame with dimensional foam tape and adhered it to an A2 red panel then recessed the ink blended panel through the opening and glued down.

I stamped the image with black ink and coloured her with the following Copic markers:-

Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, RV14, RV42, R11, R000

I stamped the Grill-friend images using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa and coloured them with the following Copic marker combinations.

Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00

Just one finishing touch and in order to make the sentiment make sense I used C3 and C1 Copic markers to swirl in some smoke rising from the Grill and I used a black pen with a fine tip together with a ruler to add the bars of the rack inside the BBQ.

To create this card I first created a background panel of patterned cardstock from the Perfect Plaid 6 x 6 Paper Pad.    This was attached to my card base.

Next, I created a white stitched edge panel using Stitched Rectangles STAX Die-namics Set 2.   I masked off a portion and ink blended using Distress Oxide in Spun Sugar and stamped the sentiment.  The panel was backed with white craft foam and glued to the patterned panel on the card base.

I stamped my images from Smell The Cake  and coloured with Copic markers.   Here is my colour palette:-

Oranges - RY09, YR04, Y38
Yellows - Y17, Y15, Y06

To create my card I first die cut a slimline panel using the Slimline Die-namics named above.   I ink blended that panel using Speckled Egg and Tea Die Distress Oxide Inks for a slightly antiqued and muted look which I then spritzed with water and blotted up with a paper towel and splattered with some watered down Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide.

I used my Copic markers to colour a background of beautiful russet tones.   Here is my colour palette for the entire card:-

Girl Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00
Girl Hair - E44, E43, E42, E0000

To complete the card I stamped the sentiment in two parts to two sentiment stripes using Skinny Strips Die-namics, backed these with foam tape and adhered.

The whole decorative panel was then backed with white craft foam and applied to a full sized slimline panel of white cardstock which in turn was applied to my prepared white card base.

My Favorite Things - MFT & Friends - Release Day!!

Woohoo!   The My Favorite Things July release is now available for purchase and to celebrate the highlight of the MFT crafty month I created this card using the new Tiddly Inks stamp set called 'Double Scoop of Cute'.

To create this card I masked off a section of an A2 panel of white cardstock.   I used Distress Oxide Ink in Worn Lipstick to ink blend the section that was to be my focal point and I created an ombré type fade.  I splashed the ink with a little water and blotted it up and  then I carefully removed the mask and dried the cardstock very thoroughly in front of mini handy dandy little desk fan.

Satisfied that it was now dry I used my embossing buddy to remove any static and then randomly stamped the ice cream cone images from the stamp set using Versamark Ink and then I heat embossed in super fine gold embossing powder.

I popped the panel in my Misti and stamped the sentiment and then attached it to my prepared white cardstock card base.

I stamped the two girls from Double Scoop of Cute and coloured them with my Copic markers.   Here are the colours I used:-

Skin - E000, E21, E11, E04
Cheeks - R00, R21
Hair (girl left) - W1, W2, W4, R000, R00
Hair (girl right) - E50, E51, E55, E44
Pinks - R05, R22, R21, R00
Greens - Y00, YG01, YG03, YG25
Yellows - Y06, Y15

A few points were highlighted with a white gel pen and the coordinating die-namics were used to die cut the images which I backed with dimensional foam tape and applied to the background.

Happy shopping everyone, I hope you treat yourselves to the lovely goodies you deserve!
