My Favorite Things - February Release Day!

Ready to shop?  The February release from MFT Stamps is now available for you to buy.  Before you go, read on for the details of how I made this card and we'll start with what I've used:-

I took a panel of white cardstock and used the stencil to create the sky and then I came in around the edges with the same ink which was Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide.  I applied this to the card base then popped it in my Misti and stamped the sentiment.

Next, I die cut two grass edges using the Tall Grass Die-namics.  I ink blended the cardstock prior to die-cutting and I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn to blend.  I applied the larger grass piece with foam tape and then to create some even better dimension I applied the second and smaller grass section with more foam tape.  I like to build 'meaty' cards!!!

Images from You Make Moo So Happy illustrated by Yuzu were stamped using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa - my absolute favourite and I coloured using the following Copic marker combinations:-

Cows - C3, C1, C00, E74, E71, E70, R00, E00, T5, T4
Balloon - R59, R39, R29, R27, R24, R05
Sunflowers - YR24, Y19, Y17, Y15, YG13
Clouds -- BG000, BG0000
Log - E44, E43, E41
Blushes - R22, R21, R00

I highlighted the images and die cut using the coordinating dies and added them to the scene with foam tape.

Happy shopping everyone and have fun with your new products everyone, I'll be back with one more card for this release tomorrow, so be sure to check that out.

My Favorite Things - June Release - Countdown Day 3

A warm welcome to Countdown Day 3 of MFT's June release, available for purchase June 13th at 10am.  Here is what I have used in the making of this Pride themed card:-

Mini Cloud Edges Stencil
A2 Double Stitched Rectangles Die-namics

I used Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink  and the stencil to create the background panel which I then die cut using the A2 Die-namics.  I stamped the sentiment from Pride Is For Everyone using black ink and using my Misti to enable repeat inking and stamping for a strong/crisp image.  I then backed this panel with a layer of white craft foam and and adhered it to an A2 panel of which cardstock then to the card base.

Using MFT's wonderful Prestige cardstock and the rainbow image from the new Sign Of The Times Die-namics, I created several rainbows which I glued to the background panel including having them hanging over the edges.  Once the glue was dry I trimmed the edges and to finish the card I applied some sparkling clear sequin accents.

Products used in this project:-

I created a red panel slightly smaller than A2 and adhered it to an A2 white panel.   I used the stencil and Blue Yonder Ink to create the cloud background then this panel was adhered to the red one.

My Favorite Things - Vault Release - Countdown Day 1

Welcome to my blog and Countdown Day 1 at My Favorite Things of the vault release of 14 Birdie Brown stamp sets .... we're going to keep going through the end of the year by which time they will ALL once again be available and will stay available for purchase!    The release goes live at 10am EST tomorrow the 22nd June.  The stamp set I'm re-introducing today is 'You're Super' - I could resist this gorgeous girl and thought it would make a great card for a student among other uses.

To create this card which has a slight CAS feel to it I used the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and softly ink blended a sky using a pale grey ink.   I then used the same grey ink plus Vintage Timber Premium Dye Ink to stamp the city skyline stamp image 3 times in each colour.  I used my Misti so that I could re-ink and re-stamp until I had a nice strong image.    These were die cut using the coordinating die-namics and arranged and glued to the background panel.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped the rest of the images from You're Super and I used Copic markers to colour them.

Skin E000, E21, E11 and E04
Cheeks R00, R20 and R21
Hair E0000, E51, E44 and E49
Outfit RV04, RV06, RV17, RV69
Cape, Lightning and Stars YR09, YR14, Y15 and Y02
Boots W5, W4, W2

A few points were highlighted with a white gel pen and then these too were die cut, backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.

To complete the card I stamped the sentiments and to keep up with the rest of the dimension these were also applied with foam tape

The decorative panel was now glued to a white cardstock base and with that the card was complete.

Tomorrow I will be back with a card to celebrate release day, I hope you join me for that!

Love to hear from you so please take a moment to leave a comment, they are always appreciated.
