My Favorite Things - August Vault Release of Laina Lamb

The door to the My Favorite Things vault is being swung open at 10am EDT tomorrow August 13th and in it you'll find a lot of long lost Laina Lamb products many have been clamouring for.   I decided to create with the Donuts Die-namics to kick things off.  Here's what I've used to make this card:-

Sweet Summer Color Blend 6 x 6 Paper Pad
Blueprints 27
A2 Stitched Rectangles Stax Set 1 Die-namics
In Stitches Alphabet Die-namics

I created an A2 card base and over that I layered an A2 panel of pink cardstock.  I then used Blueprints 27 to create the scalloped panel in white which was glued in place.  Next I used the Stax Die-namics to create a panel from the Sweet Summer Color Blend 6 x 6 Paper Pad. This panel was backed with a panel of white craft foam and glued down.

Using the In Stitches Die-namics I created the letters I'd be needing from scraps of MFT cardstock and for the 'O' I used the smaller of the two Donut dies from the Donuts Die-namics.   I iced the donut in white and used the same cardstock scraps to create the sprinkles.

I used a glitter pen to add subtle sparkle to the white icing and then one by one I glued on the sprinkles so that they were nicely distributed.  I masked a straight line across my card and glued the letters along it, removed the mask and glued the donut down.

To finish the card I stamped the sentiment from Donuts & Sprinkles which is a coordinating sentiment set and I backed it with dimensional foam tape, found centre and then stuck it down.

For a simple finishing flourish I used Nuvo Dream Drops in 3 toning shades to embellish the lower right hand corner.  Card done!

My Favorite Things - Jenoblade Release - Tea Party Pals

Hi!  Tomorrow January 30th at 10am Eastern, MFT will be having a new Jenoblade illustrated release of several stamp sets.  My card today features the new Tea Party Pals set.  Here's what I've used:-

I created an A2 panel of kraft cardstock and glued it to my card base.  I took a white panel of cardstock and used the stencil to ink blend a grass and pink sky background in a nice and soft manner.  The panel was die cut using Blueprints 27, backed with white craft foam and adhered to the kraft panel.

I die cut the PAR-TEA letters from red and white cardstock and glued them in an offset/shadow style.  I determined where I wanted it to sit on my background panel and adhered in position.  I stamped and added the other sentiment strip with dimensional foam tape.

I stamped the elements from Tea Party Pals using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa and I coloured with the following Copic marker combinations:-

Bear - E44, E31, E41
Bunny - W3, W2, W0, W00
Blushes - R22, R20, R00
Tea Set - BG70, C3, C1, C00
Cake - C3, C1, C00
Red - RV17, RV06, RV04, R32
Leaves - YG13

I die cut the coloured images and applied them to the background with foam tape.  One or two points were highlighted with a white gel pen and then the finishing touch was 3 sparkling clear sequin accents to this Birthday PAR-TEA scene.

I'll have another Jenoblade release card tomorrow, so look out for that!

My Favorite Things - July Release Preview

We're excited to be previewing the July 11th release from MFT Stamps that you can buy tomorrow at 10am Eastern.  Today the Design Team are happy to announce a new range of stamps illustrated by Jenoblade who some of you may already be familiar with.  MFT is Jenny's new exclusive home and I chose to create with the Carnival Critters stamp set for my very first Jenoblade project.  Here's what I've used:-

I started by ink blending a pink sky and grass using Distress Oxide Inks in Spun Sugar and Cracked Pistachio.  I distressed the blend and then die cut using Blueprints 27, backed the panel with white craft foam and adhered it to an A2 white panel and then to the card base.

I stamped the sweet images using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.   I coloured using Copic markers in the following combinations:-

Blue - B04, B32, B21
Pink - RV17, RV06, RV13
Grey - T4, T2, T0
Trees - G05, YG13, YG11
Cat - Y26, YR31, Y21, E00
Teddy - C3, C1, C0, C00
Bunny - E31, E41, E40, C3, C1, C0
Fox - E35, E13, E11, C3, C1, C0, C00
Blushes - R22, R20, R00

Points were highlighted with a white gel pen then I die cut and applied to the background using dimensional foam tape.

I stamped the sentiment in my Misti so that I could repeat stamp it and dotted in some pink blooms in the grass.

My Favorite Things - April Release Countdown Day 2

It's Countdown Day 2 to the April 11th new release from MFT Stamps.  For my new card today I have used the following products:-

Blueprints 27
A2 Rectangle Frames Die-namics
Skinny Strips Die-namics

To kick things off I created my own patterned background panel using the Artistic Prints stamp set.  I then used Blueprints 27 to die cut the panel which I backed with white craft foam and and glued to an A2 white panel.  Next I die cut using the A2 Rectangles and backed the white frame with dimensional foam tape and adhered to the  patterned panel.  I used a smaller frame from the same die set to create a vellum panel for the centre, I discarded the frame but kept and used the negative cut.

Using the Potted Pets die-namics I selected the bunny image and some greenery and used cardstock in my chosen colours to suit the background.  Once all the pieces were die cut I glued everything in place and then backed it with foam tape and attached it to the vellum panel which in turn I glued to the background.

Last but not least I chose part of one of the sentiments in the Grow Together sentiment stamp set and stamped it on a Skinny Strip and also applied with foam tape.

To finish I simply highlighted a few points with a white gel pen and felt nothing else was needed for this project!

I'm delighted you have joined me as we start the countdown to MFT's March 7th release.  Let's get straight to the details, here's what I've used in my card.

Unforgettable Birthday
Unforgettable Birthday Die-namics

First of all I used the stencil to create a pastel cloud background in three colours.  I used Blueprints 27 to die cut the panel which backed with white craft foam and applied to a white A2 panel and glued to the card base.

I stamped and coloured the sweet images by Stacey Yacula.  Here are the Copic markers used:-

Elephants - W4, W3, W2, W1, W0, W00, R21, R20, R00, R000
Mouse - E42, E41, E0000
Balloon - RV52, RV000, RV0000, W3, W2, W1, W0

Points were highlighted with a white gel pen then I die cut and applied with foam tape, working in the die cut white clouds at the same time to form a scene.

I popped the card in my Misti and stamped the sentiment  and then finished with a few sparkling clear sequins for accents.

I'll be back with a new card tomorrow, join me here then!

My Favorite Things - January Release Countdown Day 4

Well a sweet hello to you all today on this Countdown Day 4 to the January 17th release by MFT Stamps.   Read on for all the details for this card where there's no colouring just die-cutting!

Here's what I used for this new project:-

I stamped a white panel using the background stamp.  I used my Misti so that I could repeat stamp and get a really good crisp and even image.  I die cut the panel using Blueprints 27, backed it with white craft foam and applied it to a white A2 panel.  I popped it back in my Misti and stamped the sentiment.

Using MFT's wonderful prestige cardstock I die cut all of the components I would need to create the inside of a box of chocolates along with the ribbon tied lid.

I glued all of the pieces together .... the possibilities and combinations are endless and then adhered the lid to the background first followed by the actual box filled with chocolates.

A few pretty little pink heart embellishments were the simple finishing touch!

I think you'll have fun with this die set, I know I did and it'll take you well beyond Valentine's Day too.

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge - WSC619

It's time for the next Wednesday Sketch Challenge from MFT Stamps, this is WSC619 and here are the products used in my inspiration card:-

I started by using Blueprints 27 to die cut a panel of Princess Pink cardstock which I backed with white craft foam and mounted on an A2 white panel which in turn was adhered to my card base.

I used black ink to stamp the images from Coolest friends that I could form into a grouping that would loosely follow the heart shape in the sketch and I coloured the images with the following Copic marker colours:-

Penguins - T5, C3, C1, C0, C00, E000, YR04, Y38
Snowman - C3, C1, C0, C00, BG11, BG70
Pink - RV02, T3, T1
Mint - BG11, T4, T3, T0
Brown - E44, R43, E42, E41

I die cut the images and glued them together roughly in the shape of a heart then backed it with dimensional foam tape and adhered to the background panel.

I stamped the sentiment on a sentiment strip and also applied with foam tape and then used the small star die from Playful Penguins to add toning coloured stars, per the sketch, to the scene also popped up for dimension.  I highlighted some points and added designs to their scarves and then the card was complete.

My Favorite Things - April Release Countdown Day 2

It's Countdown Day 2 to the April 12th release by MFT Stamps and I'm sharing a card made using a pretty new stamp set illustrated by Rachelle Anne Miller.   This stamp set is called Special Spot In My Heart.

I created my background first by ink blending a background panel with Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks, then splattering with water before blotting it up.   I used Blueprints 27 Die-namics to die cut the panel then stamped the sentiment.

The panel was backed with white craft foam and attached to a slightly larger panel of kraft card stock and this was layered on to an A2 panel of Sno-Cone card stock.

I stamped the sweet Giraffe's from Special Spot In My Heart using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa and coloured them with the following Copic markers:-

Giraffe Spots - E44, E43, E42
Giraffe Body - E55, E31
Muzzles - E43, E42, E41, E40, R000, R00
Blushes and Hearts - R20, R00

Images were die cut using the coordinating die-namics and adhered to the background with foam tape.

To complete the card I surrounded the giraffe's with hearts that were stamped, coloured and die-cut from the same stamp set and a few sparkling clear sequins.

My Favorite Things - May Release Countdown Day 1

Just one more sleep until the My Favorite Things May release goes live tomorrow at 10am EST!   My card today features the new Pure Innocence stamp set called Goal Getter which of course has coordinating die-namics, a great little stamp set to make cards for a student's achievements.

My card began by using Blueprints 27 to die cut some pretty paper from the Party Plaid 6 x 6 Paper Pad, backing it with some white craft foam and adhering it to a white cardstock card base.   I used the Inside and Out Stitched Circle STAX and die cut a focal point circle which I ink blended using Distress Ink in Stormy Sky.    I used the Petite Clouds die-namics to cut 3 cloud openings.  The circle was adhered to the background and then I replaced the die cut clouds with 3 white ones which I applied with foam tape.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped the girl from the new stamp set and I coloured her with Copic markers.   I added a little bit of gold glitter to her medal.   She was backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.

Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and then I stamped the sentiment on a strip from Skinny Strips Sentiment Die-namics, backed it with foam tape and applied it.   Card complete!

Totally appreciate you stopping by to read my blog today.  You should definitely swing by the MFT blog now and comment for a chance to win a $75 gift voucher!

Take care and happy crafting!

My Favorite Things - Color Challenge #163

Hello!  Another fun colour challenge for those of you looking to try and win a $50 gift card at My Favorite Things.  This is Challenge #163 and here is my inspiration card.

I love this colour combination it just makes me ridiculously happy!  I ink blended a panel of white cardstock using My Favorite Things Premium Dye Inks in (from the bottom up) Prickly Pear, Princess Pink and Poppin' Pink.   I used a wet toothbrush to spritz on some water which I blotted up and then used a little watered down Poppin' Pink and spritzed that on to further distress the background but just subtly.  This panel was then die cut using Blueprints 27 Die-namics.

I used the Farm Fence Die-namics and die cut white cardstock for the picket fence which I trimmed to fit and adhered to the background.   I stamped the sentiment from You Have My Heart with Versamark Ink and heat embossed in white.

I stamped the images from You Have My Heart and used Copic markers to colour them and a white gel pen to highlight points.   They were die-cut using the coordinating Die-namics, backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.

To assemble the card I backed the decorative panel with white craft foam and adhered it to an A2 panel cut from a sheet from the Gift Wrap 6 x 6 Paper Pad.   This was all then adhered to my white card base.  I wanted to keep this card super duper sweet and simple and decided to restrain myself from applying any further accents.

Here's hoping you feel inspired to join the challenge, visit the MFT Blog to find a link where you can upload your project,  good luck with your entry!
