My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge - WSC608

Welcome to my blog and a brand new Wednesday Sketch Challenge at MFT Stamps!  This is WSC608 and I'm sharing my inspiration card.  I love this sketch, I think it is very cool for a whole variety of card designs so I hope you will enter the challenge.

Products used:-

I used the Stax Die-namics to die cut 3 identical panels of white cardstock.   I used the Snow Drifts Die-namics to create the 'hills'  from two of the panels.

I ink blended the back panel to create a focal point and adhered it to my A2 white card base.   I also ink blended the edges of the the two 'hills' and then I applied both of these layers to the background panel with dimensional foam tape behind each for some super dimension.   I stamped the sentiment with red ink.

I stamped and coloured the images from Ready, Set, Snow.   I used the following Copic colours:-

Bunny - E31, E41, E0000, W2, W2, W0, W000
Penguin - W6, W5, W4, W3, W2, W1, W0
Red - R39, R29, R24, R22
Blue - B97, B95, B91

Highlights were added with a white gel pen and then the images were die cut and added the scene either with a single or double layer of foam tape to give the appearance that they are flying down that mountain side.

To complete the project I stamped the fir trees and adhered them either directly or with foam tape and I added 4 points stars and light falling snow to the sky with a white gel pen for the final touch.

My Favorite Things - August Vault Release Day!

The door to the vault has been swung wide open at My Favorite Things and the release is now live and you can buy all of the featured and re-released stamp sets!   My slimline card here features the very fun Ready, Set, Snow illustrated by Birdie Brown.

Here's how I created this card.   I started out by creating the basic card form using Sno Cone Cardstock the Slimline Starter Die-namics together with Slimline Stitched Square Die-namics and for the snowy edge I used Stitched Slimline Snow Drifts Die-namics.

I ink blended a panel with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink then layered over that my white snow edge, this was applied with foam tape for dimension and over that I layered the triple window die-cut, this was all backed with foam tape and applied to my card base.

I used a white gel pen to dot in some snow and some white Nuvo drops for some of the snow to be a little larger and more dimensional.

I stamped the images and coloured them with Copic markers.  Here's my colour palette:-

Bunny - E44, E43, E42, E41
Cheeks - R00, R20, R21
Penguin - W5, W4, W3, W2, R000, YR07
Visors - BG0000
Greens G16, G09, G02
Reds -  R39, R29, R08

Points were highlighted with a white gel pen then were die cut using the coordinating die-namics.   They were backed with foam tape and applied the scene.

To finish up I added some swoosh marks as the bunny's hat has blown away and I stamped the sentiment from Bitty Holiday Wishes to a long sentiment strip included in Slimline Starter Die-namics and using red ink.

Last but not least I used Stickles to glitter up the fir trees and with that the card was complete.

Happy shopping from the Birdie Brown sets being released today, I hope you enjoy working with them!
