Pink & Main - June New Release

A couple of days ago Pink & Main's June release went live and there's much to love.  This was my contribution.  This card features the new Paradise Postage Stamps that work with the previously released Postage Stamp Dies (as do all of their postage themed stamp sets) and the new Abstract Waves Die.

The card started as an A2 panel of white cardstock to which I added four 'waves' created using the Abstract Waves Die.  These waves were to inspire my colour selections for the stamps.

I stamped the Paradise Postage Stamps with black ink and coloured with the following Copic markers:-

Turquoise - BG32, BG11

Green - G99, YG97, YG67, YG17, YG25, YG03

Yellow - Y28, YR21, Y21

Pink - RV63, RV52, RV10

Skin - E35, E34, E11, E01

As see in the mermaid's tail, the crab's shell and the seahorse, I came in also withe one of the pink Copic markers to add a little interest - yes, you can mix pink and green, there are no rules!  Also you'll note that the turquoise sea/sky in the background of each stamp have 'bubbles'.  This was created simply by using the Copic Colorless Blender.

The images were all die cut using the Postage Stamps Dies.

I added dimensional foam tape to the back of the stamps and found an arrangement that I liked and adhered them to the background.

I selected the sentiment from the stamp set and stamped on a die cut postage stamp.  This stamped sentiment was backed with a double layer of dimensional tape and stuck down.

For the final touch, I used some sparkling clear flat cup sequins to take the eye around the card and because I can never resist!

Happy to announce a new release of summery stamps from Purple Onion Designs which are available for purchase now.  Today I'm sharing a card made with the Chilliezgraphy illustrated image called 'Happy Cone Mobile' and I've added a sentiment from a new sentiment stamp set called 'Sunshine & Daydreams Sentiment Stamp Set'.

 

I stamped the adorable new image with Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa and I coloured with Copic Markers:-

The image was fussy cut.

I created a panel of white cardstock measuring 4" x 5 1/4" and I ink blended sky and sand using Distress Oxide Inks in Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Salvaged Patin & Peacock Feathers.

I decided where I wanted to place the coloured image and sentiment and ink blended in such as a way to create movement as the truck is definitely in motion if you observe the animal's ears and especially that sweet mouse hanging on for dear life!  To that end I created some 'whoosh' by leaving the area around the ice cream mobile very lightly coloured.

I splashed the ink blending with white acrylic paint watered down with a drop of water then backed the panel with white craft foam and adhered it to an A2 white panel and this was glued to the card base.

I glued the sentiment in place and added a few sequins for a final flourish, I highlighted areas with a white gel pen and added a little W3 and W1 shadows to the sand.

I took an A2 panel of white cardstock and masked a line and ink blended below it with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink for the Ocean and above the masked line with 'Breeze' by The Stamp Market.  I ink blended with Antique Linen at the bottom (partially hidden).  I stamped the sentiment at the top, then backed the panel with white craft foam and glued it to a larger white panel.

I used the Hill & Dale Die from the Essentials on Hello Bluebird's website and ink blended the die cut I created with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Oxide Inks.  I dotted in some interested then applied the panel to the bottom of the background scene adhering with foam tape.

I then stamped the images from Beach Bums and coloured with Copic markers.  Here's what I used:-

Palm Trees - E77, E44, E43, E31, E41, YG17, YG13, YG03, YG01

Hammock - RV17, RV06, E31, E44

Sloth - E77, E44, E43, E31, E41, E01, YR09, YR07, YR04, BG57, BG15

Images were die cut, highlighted with a white gel pen and applied with foam tape and I made sure to tuck the base of the palm tree image down behind the sand dune.

I took a slimline panel of sturdy white cardstock and I die cut using the Beach Slimline Die.   I ink blended the different pieces and then adhered everything back together again like a jigsaw puzzle.  I stamped the sentiment which I borrowed from the Beach Bums stamp set which forms part of the larger kit, in the perfectly sized cloud in the top left hand corner.  I then framed the scene using a die cut created with the Gallery Frame #5 Die which is in the Essentials section on the website.  This frame was applied with foam tape.

I stamped the adorable Jungle Littles at the Beach images and then I coloured with the following Copic marker combinations:-

Giraffe - E27, YR24, E31, E41, W00

Chimpanzee - T5, T5, T3, E31, E01

Hippo - T4, T3, T2, E01, E00

Koala - W5, W4, W3, W1

Flamingo - R22, R21, R20, R00

Elephant - C5, C3, C1, C00

Blushes - R22, R21, R20, R00

Clothing - FBG2, FRV1, FY1, FYG1

I highlighted with a white gel pen and emphasised eyes with a black glaze pen and then die cut and applied with foam tape to the background.

Included in the Jungle Littles on the Beach set are die cuts for the eyewear.  I found some scraps of coloured cardstock from my stash and I die cut several glasses frames.  Four of them I glued on directly and highlighted and with another two I die cut from coloured cardstock then again from mirrored cardstock so they'd have mirrored sunglass as in the case of the Chimp and the Flamingo who is wearing his on his head.

To finish up completely I dotted in some interest to the sand and use W Copic markers to add some shadow under the images standing in the sand and I glued in some droplet style embellishments.  Card done!  

 

Hello Bluebird Stamps - July Card Kit 2024

 

Hey there!  Here's my second card featuring products from the new Sun, Sand and Surf Kit from Hello Bluebird Stamps.  For details on the pre-order style Kit Club at Hello Bluebird, please visit their website.  These are limited edition stamps and dies.  When the pre-order period closes you will never be able to to buy these stamps and dies again.  I've used products included in Hello Bluebird's large kit to make this card together with one of the 'Add-On' items, here's what I've used:-

I grabbed a white A2 panel of cardstock.  I masked a line for the horizon and below it I ink blended the ocean using an ink by The Stamp Market which would you believe it is called 'Ocean'!  I switched the mask to then lie across the water horizon and above it I ink blended the sky using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.

I grabbed a second A2 panel of white cardstock and I used the Hill & Dale Die from their Essentials range to create to sand dunes. I ink blended using Distress Oxide Inks in Antique Linen and a touch of Tea Dye.  I stamped the sentiment on one and then I adhered the taller dune with glue and the smaller dune with the sentiment was backed with dimensional foam tape and adhered.

I next took the Beach Umbrella Die and I die cut the Beach Umbrella and the clouds included in the die set which is an individually available Add-On  die.  I backed the clouds with foam tape and adhered them and trimmed off the overhang and I assembled the umbrella, glueing the parts together and similarly applied it to the scene with foam tape.

What's not to love about this Koala from Beach Bums?  I stamped him then coloured with Copic markers in the following combinations:-

Koala - W5, W4, W3, W2, W0, W00

Shirt - C3, C1, C00

Shorts - RV17, RV06

Deckchair - YR09, YR07, YR04, E44, E31

Blush - R22, R21, R20, R00

I die cut the images and applied them either directly with glue or with foam tape.  I used a black glaze pen to emphasise the eyes, nose and paw pads and a white gel pen to highlight certain points and then this card was done!

I started by die cutting sturdy white cardstock using the Big Wave Scene Die.  I ink blended the different pieces using inks from The Stamp Market in Breeze for the Sky,  Lagoon and Tropic for the water and Sunshine for the sun.

I pieced the 'puzzle' of die cut pieces back together glueing them into place on another cardstock panel.  I then adhered this to a card base and I added a die cut made using the Gallery Frame #7 Die which is now in Hello Bluebird's 'Essentials' section.  I added this die cut popped up on foam tape.

I die cut bright pink cardstock using the Hello Summer word die and I also die cut white cardstock with it and then I glued the letters together slightly offset to give a highlighted edge with the white behind.  I highlighted the letters and then glued them in place on the background.

I added some Stickles glitters to make the ocean waves sparkle and I added some white Nuvo drops for splashes.

I then stamped the two characters I was wanting to use from Gone Surfin' and I coloured with the following Copic markers:-

Koala - W5, W4, W3, W2, W1, W00, RV17, RV06, Y38

Bear - E44, E31, E41, E40, Y19, RV17, BG78, BG57, BG13, G00

Blushes - R22, R21, R20, R00

I highlighted points with a white gel pen and used a black glaze pen to emphasise eyes and noses and then die cut using the coordinating dies and applied the to the big wave background using dimensional foam tape and with that, this card was done.
