Wheelie Great - Avery Elle Stamps

Hello!  This is Nicky with you today and I'm featuring the stamp set Wheelie Great for my card today.

To create this card I first created the background by ink blending to create sky and grass.  I distressed it with water splashes which I blotted up and then added a few dots of white gel pen for further interest.  This background was applied to a 110lb white cardstock base.  I then took the Dotted Frame die and die cut a panel of white cardstock.  This die cut was backed with foam tape and applied to the background.

On Copic friendly cardstock the images from Wheelie Great were stamped using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black.   They were coloured up with Copic Markers, die cut and applied backed with foam tape.

To finish the card, points were highlighted with a white gel pen and the sentiment was stamped onto a strip of white cardstock, backed with foam tape and applied to the frame.

I appreciate you stopping by the blog today to read about this card.  Happy crafting!

Cupids - Avery Elle Stamps

Hey there, it's Nicky with you today with a slimline card featuring the pretty Cupids stamp set by Avery Elle Stamps.

To create this slimline card that measure 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches I made a base and then created a panel to decorate.  I ink blended with Distress Ink in Tattered Rose leaving a focal point in the centre.  I stamped and heat embossed in gold the string of hearts, I also stamped the sentiment and then applied this background to the base.

On Copic friendly cardstock the images from Cupids were stamped using Memento ink in Tuxedo Black.  The images were coloured with Copic markers then die cut, backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.

To complete this card I chose some pale peach coloured sequins from my stash and applied them with glue.

Card complete and I hope this inspires your own Valentine's projects.  Happy crafting!

Cloud Mat Die with Cupids - Avery Elle Stamps

Hi!   I'm gearing up for Valentine's Day with my latest card for Avery Elle Stamps.   My card today features the new Cloud Mat Die together with the new Cupids stamp set.

I die cut an A2 panel of white cardstock using the Cloud Mat Die and adhered it to a white cardstock base.  I die cut a panel of pale pink cardstock using the Postage Stamp Die, I backed this die cut with foam tape and applied it to the background.

I die cut the Cloud Mat one more time from 110lb white cardstock.   I chose some of the clouds this created and applied Versamark Ink to these and then dunked them in Wow! Embossing Powder in 'Salsa' and heat embossed using my heat tool.  The clouds were backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.

On Bristol Smooth cardstock the Cupids and sentiments were stamped using Ranger Archival Ink in  Potting Soil.   They were watercolour painted using Tombow ABT's in 977 and 772 and Kuretake Zigs in Light Beige, Pale Pink, Haze Blue, Warm Gray 2 and Orange.  They were die cut and applied to the scene with more foam tape.

I felt no other embellishment was required given how glittery the clouds are so I just highlighted a few points with a white gel pen and then the card was complete.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, happy crafting!

Hooray - Avery Elle Stamps

Hello!    I have a new card for Avery Elle Stamps that puts the new Hooray sentiment set front and centre.

This great sentiment set will be a set you reach for time and time again for all manner and style of cards.  I chose to layer it over a now discontinued background die but there's nothing this wouldn't work with.

To create this card I die cut (embossed) the background panel then ink blended with Distress Ink blending to a lighter focal point.   I coloured the balloons and stars with Copic markers and adhered it to a 110lb white cardstock base.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen.

To create the large 'hooray' I  stamped the sentiment with archival ink on to white cardstock.  I then fussy cut the word and used a craft knife to remove the centres.  This sentiment was backed with foam tape and applied over the scene where it appears to float.  I then used Glossy Accents glue to apply a glossy layer over the top.  The smaller sentiment was stamped and the card set aside to fully dry.

Finally, I reached into my stash of embellishments and selected various sizes of Sparkling Clear Sequins  to add a celebratory sparkle.

Thank you for stopping by and I'll see you next time!

Polar Playtime - Avery Elle

Hello, today I have another card for the holiday season.  This card features Polar Playtime by Avery Elle, together with their Wonky Scalloped Frames Die and Wonky 3D Bow and the sentiment is from Snow Fun.

To start with, I had lots of fun ink blending the background, I used Picked Raspberry, Aged Mahogany and Black Soot Distress Inks to achieve this look.  I then loosened up some white acrylic paint with a splash of water and splattered until my heart was content, setting it to one side to fully dry afterwards.

I die cut the white scalloped frames and backed them with foam tape and I also stamped the penguins from Polar Playtime onto Bristol Smooth using black ink and watercolour painted them using Kuretake Zigs in Green, Oatmeal, Light Pink, Bright Yellow, Orange, Natural Gray and Wine Red.  I die cut the images, backed them with foam tape and then adhered both frames and penguins to the background.

I die cut and constructed the bow from the Wonky 3D Bow die using some matte gold cardstock in my collection.  I adhered it into position and then used a double layer of foam tape discretely inside each loop so that the card could be mailed and the bow wouldn't be crushed.  Note .... I didn't remove the protective cover to the top layer of foam.  The bow was adhered into position.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from Snow Fun using Versamark Ink and heat embossed in gold.  I backed it with yet more foam tape and applied.  I felt the warm gold touches in this card worked well with the rich colour of the background.

Finally I dotted in some gold gel pen dots into the background and highlighted points on the penguins with a white gel pen.

Hope you like the card, thanks for coming by to read.

25 Days of Christmas Tags - Avery Elle

Hey there!  I'm representing Avery Elle today with this shaker gift tag for the 25 Day of Christmas Tags - month long event organised by Tracey McNeely and her blog found HERE.

To create my shaker tag I die cut the Classic Flag die from this set 3 times.  Twice in light grey cardstock and once more from white cardstock.   I stencil ink blended a background of clouds on the white die cut and adhered it to one of the grey ones to form the back of the tag.  I set this to one side.

Next, I cut a window out of the remaining grey die cut using the Large Pierced Scallops Die set.  I backed the opening with a piece of acetate and built a shaker until around the window with dimensional foam tape.  I filled the shaker portion with a selection of 'snowy' sequins that I had then adhered the back to the front sealing the contents in.

I used a 1/8 inch hole punch to make the opening for my baker's twine and threaded through a double strand.

I die cut the larger of the two sentiment strips in the Classic Flags die set and I stamped the sentiment from Snow Fun with Versamark Ink then heat embossed in red.

Taking centre stage are some cuties also from the Snow Fun stamp set.  These were stamped with Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil on to Bristol Smooth cardstock then watercolour painted using Kuretake Zigs in Wine Red, Haze Blue, Light Pink and Bright Yellow.  Also a Tombow ABT was used in shade 969.  Some points were highlighted with a white gel pen then all images were die cut, backed with foam tape and applied to the top of the shaker window and the sentiment strip was applied underneath them to ground them.

A few Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh were adhered to the outside for a final twinkle.

Thank you for stopping by to read how to make this tag today and I hope you are enjoying all the gift tag inspiration this event is bringing.

Until the next time then, happy crafting!

Cocoa Stand - Avery Elle

Hi!  I have a fun new card for the holiday season featuring Cocoa Stand by Avery Elle and I've also used their Dotted Borders die for the two snow drifts.

I love to make backgrounds, especially snowy ones and for this one I ink blended with Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers, Chipped Sapphire and a little Black Soot.  I then splattered it up with white acrylic paint that I loosened up with a drop of water.

I die cut two snow drifts using the Dotted Borders die.  I adhered one directly and the other was backed with foam tape and added.  I stamped 'season's greetings' from the set onto a strip of cardstock and applied it with foam tape.  The entire panel was adhered to a sturdy 110lb white cardstock base and set to one side.

On Bristol Smooth cardstock the images from Cocoa Stand were stamped then watercolour painted  using Kuretake Zigs in Wine Red, Persian Green, Oatmeal, Cool Gray 1, Light Pink and finally a Tombow ABT in shade 761.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and images were die cut, backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.

Glitter was added to the hanging star, the snow on the stand and the string lights and I adhered little wooden stars into sky to keep the look sweetly rustic.

What's not to love about Cocoa Stand I ask you?

See you next time!

Santa Bear - Avery Elle

Hello!  Today and I have a new holiday card that combines no-line watercolour painting with the adorable Santa Bear stamp set by Avery Elle.

To start this card I ink blended a white panel of cardstock using Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Iced Spruce and I created a soft focal point in the centre.  Once fully dry I used the falling snow stamp from Santa Bear and repeatedly stamped the image using Versamark Ink and then heat embossed in white.  I set this to one side.

I used the Dotted Borders Die to create the snow hill and I backed it with foam tape and applied it to the panel.  I then stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed in gold on a strip of vellum which I then wrapped around the panel and secured on the reverse.  I was now able to attach the panel to the 110lb white cardstock base.

On Strathmore Bristol Smooth I stamped my images using Distress Oxide Ink in Antique Linen then watercolour painted them using the following Kuretake Zig colours - Dark Brown, Dark Gray, Warm Gray 2, Brown, Light Pink, Persian Green, Mid Brown, Carmine Red, Oatmeal, Mid Gray, Green and Beige. The images were die cut, backed with foam tape and applied.

Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and the greenery behind the Santa Bear was glittered up using Stickles in Crystal.

I think the card has a lovely soft retro feel to it, I hope you enjoyed it and are feeling inspired.

Happy crafting!

Simply Said Bright with Polar Playtime - Avery Elle

Hey there, I have a new holiday card that features the Simply Said - Bright stamp and die set from Avery Elle and I paired it with the Polar Playtime stamp set.

First of all I ink blended an A2 panel using Distress Oxide Ink in Spun Sugar - creating a soft focal point.  I then used 2nd and 3rd generation stamps of the snowflake images from Polar Playtime and I also splashed a little paint casually.  I set the background to one side to completely dry.

I created the snow hill using a die from Dotted Borders and adhered that die cut into position.

The Simply Said - Bright sentiment set allows you to die cut a border for your 'Bright' word.  I chose to die cut this border 3 times and adhered them in a stack.  I then die cut the word 'Bright' from white cardstock and again from silver foil cardstock and adhered those two together and in turn added the word to the border .... so many possibilities here!  I also chose two extra mini sentiments to make up the whole phrase I wanted - again, endless possibilities.  The mini sentiment strips were backed with foam tape and applied.

On Strathmore Bristol Smooth I stamped the image I chose from Polar Playtime using Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil.  I watercolour painted the image using Kuretake Zigs in Natural Gray, Mid Gray, Oatmeal, Light Pink, Persian Green, Light Gray and Bright Yellow.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and then the image was die cut, backed with foam tape and applied.

Here's another close up look at the Simply Said - Bright sentiment set!  The card was finished out with a few dots of pale gold gel pen dotted into the background for a sweet twinkle.

Thanks for stopping by to read today, see you again soon!

Falling For You - Avery Elle

I'm so happy you came by the blog today to read about my latest card for Avery Elle that features Falling For You from the Fall release.  The scene I created is framed out using the Dotted Frame Die.

This card started by ink blending white cardstock using Clarity Stencil Brushes.  Distress Inks used are Tumbled Glass, Carved Pumpkin and Peeled Paint.  Dots of pale gold gel pen were added for some added interest and I hand painted in tufts of grass etc.

On Bristol Smooth cardstock the images from Falling For You were hand stamped using Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil.  They were watercolour painted using Kuretake Zigs in Brown, Beige, Gray Brown, Dark Brown, Orange, Olive Green, Light Pink, Wine Red and a Tombow in shade 451.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and all images die cut.

The images were backed with dimensional foam tape and the Dotted Frame was die cut from white cardstock and also backed with foam tape.  This was all adhered to the blended card background.

To finish up I placed the panel in my Misti and stamped the sentiment twice so that it was a nice strong image and then the panel was applied to a 110lb white cardstock base and voila the card was complete.

Happy crafting and see you next time!

Stamptember - Merry Wreath - Simon Says Stamp/Avery Elle

Hello!  I was so happy to participate in the fun Stamptember event for Simon Says Stamp in conjunction with Avery Elle.  The stamp set in question is called 'Merry Wreath' and I decided to go for a simple but sophisticated 'mixed metals' look by layering Copper and Silver heat embossing.

I took a panel of pale gray cardstock  and stamped the wreath image with Versamark Ink then heat embossed in Copper.

I then used one of the leaf images and again using Versamark Ink as I stamped it randomly around the wreath and heat embossed in silver.

The bow image was next, again using the copper embossing powder and finally the sentiment was stamped and I switched back to silver.

The secret to not damaging the layer of embossing underneath is keeping your heat gun very hot all the time so that it very quickly embosses your new image without impacting the layer underneath.

With all the embossing done, I trimmed down my panel a little, I backed it with white craft foam and mounted it to a sturdy 110lb white cardstock base.

The final touch was the application of sparkling clear sequins adding just a tiny bit of dimension and sparkle.

This would be a great stamp set for mass producing your Christmas cards.  There are several stamp images to adorn your wreath differently than I did.

Thank you for stopping by to read today and happy crafting, I'll be back soon with a new project!

Seasonal Simple Sentiments with Santa Bear - Avery Elle

Hey there, I'm glad you stopped by today because I'm sharing a card that highlights the new and essential sentiment set called Seasonal Simple Sentiments by Avery Elle.  I have used this set in conjunction with the new Santa Bear stamp set.  Also included in the card are snowy hills created using Dotted Borders Die and all framed out using the Postage Stamp Die.

This card started with a background panel that was trimmed to A2 size and was created from a subtle beige with white snowflake design that is found in the new 6 x 6 'The Holiday Collection' paper pad.  I die cut two hills with the borders die and ink blended the edges to antique them for my mildly retro look.   I then die cut the postage stamp frame and recessed the hills within it, adhering together on the reverse and then apply to the background panel which in turn was affixed to a sturdy 110lb white cardstock base.

On Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock I stamped my images from Santa Bear using Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil.  I watercolour painted everything using Kuretake Zigs in Oatmeal, Mid Brown, Mid Gray, Green, Wine Red and Light Pink.  Images were die cut, backed with foam tape and adhered into position.

On some slate gray cardstock I stamped the sentiments using Versamark Ink and heat embossed in super fine white embossing powder.  Each sentiment strip was backed with more foam tape and applied at playful angles.

Time for the finishing touches which basically included using Stickles in 'Crystal' to add a glittered finish to Santa Bear's hat, the greenery behind him, the tree stump he sits upon and the shadow under the bunny waiting his turn.  Finally I used white Nuvo Drops to drop in some dimensional snowfall.

Thanks so much for coming by to read about this card today, I'll be back before you know it with a new project.

Avery Elle - Fall 2019 Release Blog Hop

Hello everybody!  Thank you for hopping along to my blog for the Avery Elle Stamps big new release blog hop!  Be sure you read/scroll all the way through my post today to read the GIVEAWAY information and to find the list of designers to hop along with next.

I have TWO cards to share with you today, this first one features Snow Fun one of the new stamp sets from the release and my first official Christmas card of the season!

To make this card I die cut an A2 panel from red and white gingham patterned cardstock.  I adhered this to a 110lb white cardstock base - nice and sturdy!   I then die cut a smaller panel of white cardstock.  I masked off the edges then used Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean distress inks to ink blend the background.  I also stamped some of the snowflakes from the stamp set using Salty Ocean but I stamped it off once or twice first for lighter 2nd and 3rd generation stamps.

The sentiment was stamped.  This smaller panel was backed with white craft foam and applied to the gingham panel.

On Copic friendly paper the images were stamped with black Memento ink.   They were coloured with Copic markers then die cut, backed with dimensional foam tape and applied to the scene.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen.

The finishing touch was to apply the pale blue and white snowflakes with a little Ranger Multi Medium Matte glue.  I also used a little Stickles in 'Crystal' to add some sparkle to the snowmen and a tiny dot of it into the centre of each stamped snowflake.

Below you'll see that I had extra images and so I decide to adorn the inside of the card for a surprise but still leave plenty of room for a personal message.

My second card for this release is something really different for me since I didn't have to stamp or die cut a single thing!  This card was constructed entirely of paper from the new The Holiday Collection 6x6 inch Paper Pack together with the Holiday Ephemera Pack which is basically a fun collection of die cuts that are already coloured and stamped up for your immediate use.  With this you can create endless projects including cards and gift tags!

To construct this card I merely chose the elements I needed to build a scene from the Ephemera Pack and I laid them out on my craft table to find the right arrangement.  I then chose a background from the Holiday Collection and trimmed it to size leaving plenty of that design for a future project.

From this point it was merely a matter of building the scene behind and within the red stitched and scalloped frame using a combination of glue and single and double layers of foam tape so that the card became highly dimensional.

Once done I applied the scene to a red card base and embellished with a few sparkling clear sequins for that essential Christmas twinkle.

Buy these two items and you'll be whizzing through your Christmas card making list like a pro!

Thank you for coming by to see what I made for this exciting new release.  Please scroll down to hop to the next designer on the list.
