Spread Kindness - Purple Onion Designs

For this Valentine's card I used Flynt and Goldie the boy and girl fairies from the Spread Kindness collection illustrated by Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs.  For the horizon beneath them I've used a stamp from the 'A Beautiful Day' collection and the sentiment is from the 'Essential Happy Sentiment Set'.

To create the card I first stamped the horizon on to an A2 Copic friendly panel.  I coloured this image with Copic markers YG91, YG93, YG95 and YG97.   I then stamped the image again on masking paper which I fussy cut the image, layered it over the coloured image and then ink blended the sky using Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick.   I removed the mask.

I stamped the sentiment and die cut a white cardstock frame and applied it popped up on foam tape.

On more Copic friendly cardstock I stamped Flynt and Goldie using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.   I coloured Flynt using the colours from the horizon plus E37 and E27 and I use W shades for some shading.   For Goldie I used the W's for shading and skirt and RV23, RV13 and R24 for her other clothing.   Skin tones used are  E000, E21, E11 and E04.

These images were fussy cut, backed with foam tape and applied and I added some Stickles Glitter in Diamond to the fairy wings and with that the card was complete.

Happy crafting!

Spread Kindness - Purple Onion Designs

I have a CAS newborn baby card for you today using images from the Spread Kindness collection, illustrated by Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs.

To create this simple card I stamped my images using Nuvo Hybrid Ink in Soft Suede by Tonic Studios.  I used Copic markers to colour the images and then I fussy cut them out carefully.

A panel of smooth white cardstock was ink blended with Distress Oxide Ink in Spun Sugar to create a soft focal point.   I backed the cart with one layer of dimensional foam tape and the blooms and sleeping mouse with 2 layers and assembled the scene against the focal point.

Again using the ink in Soft Suede I stamped my sentiment on a strip of cardstock and backed it with foam tape and applied it.  The panel was attached to a sturdy 110lb cover white cardstock base and I resisted all temptation to add any further embellishment since I wanted to go for utter simplicity.

This card would work equally well for a baby in pale blues or where gender is unknown in mint greens and/or yellows or a mix of all of those shades would work nicely.

So glad you stopped by today, hope to see you next time - happy crafting!

Spread Kindness - Purple Onion Designs

I have a sweet new card today to share with you.  The card uses illustrations from Stacey Yacula's Spread Kindness collection for Purple Onion Designs.

This is a slimline card with finished dimensions of 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches which fits a standard size 9 envelope.

I also created a slightly smaller panel which I stencil ink blended using a stencil by Alexandra Renke.  I used Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Tumbled Glass and I also used a little of the Squeezed Lemonade to make a pastel bloom of colour on two corners.  I wanted it to look ethereal but definitely fun too!

I stamped the two cuties from Spread Kindness onto Strathmore Bristol Smooth using Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil.  I watercolour painted them using Kuretake Zigs in Flesh Colour, Pale Pink, Light Pink, Dull Blue, Yellow and Haze Blue.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and then they were fussy cut, backed with foam tape and applied to the background panel.

I love the Essential Thoughts Sentiment Set and selected my sentiment from that set, stamping it in Navy Blue Memento Ink.

I backed the panel with white craft foam and applied it to the card base and then all that was left was to glue the micro star 'sequins' in a magical trail behind each fairy.

It was my pleasure to share this card with you today, I hope you'll come back to read my blog again, better yet, consider signing up for an email for each new blog post I make and never miss another card.

Happy crafting!

Spread Kindness - Purple Onion Designs

Hello there!  I'm so happy you swung by the blog today to read about my latest card for Purple Onion Designs.  This card uses two images from the Spread Kindness category by Stacey Yacula Studio.  Namely, Floral Corners and Tiny Dwelling.

I stamped the Tiny House image onto an A2 panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock.  I then stamped and fussy cut a mask of this image and lay it over the original image.  I ink blended with Distress Oxide in Spun Sugar (above the grass line)  and with Mowed Lawn below the grass line.  I splashed some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink, mixed with a drop of water into the pink sky and then removed the mask and die cut it to finish the edges with the faux stitched edge and then adhering the panel to a 110lb white cardstock base.

On Bristol Smooth cardstock I stamped the Floral Corners so that I had one for each corner.  I used Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil for this.  I also stamped the snail and the bee from Garden Blooms.  I then set about watercolour painting all images using the following:-

Tombow ABTs in 243, 772.

Kuretake Zigs in Mid Gray 096, Oatmeal 064, May Green 047, Haze Blue 302, Pale Rose 230, Yellow 050, Pink 025, Deep Red 260, Gray Brown 094 and Light Pink 026.

The Floral Corners and Snail and Bee were fussy cut, backed with dimensional foam tape and applied to the panel.

Finishing touches time!  I randomly applied some sparkling clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh and I stamped the sentiment from Snowflake Grove and adhered it on more foam tape.

I thank you for coming by my blog today, hope you'll join me next time.
