Purple Onion Designs - Tofu & The Snowman

I'm back today with a brand new card for Purple Onion Designs that features the Tofu & The Snowman stamp.  Here's a list of links to what I've used to create this card:-

The card started as an A2 white panel which I turned into a postcard by using the Vintage Postcard Add-On Set and added other postal features by combining stamps from the Vintage Postcard Set and Vintage Holiday Postmark Set.  I also chose a sentiment from Holiday Time Sentiments and stamped that on the right hand side.

I lay a stencil across the panel and ink blended above the stencil using Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink.  This panel was then adhered to a slightly larger red panel of cardstock and then that was glued to a patterned panel and then to my card base.

I stamped the Tofu & The Snowman image with  Eiffel Tower ink by MFT.  I coloured the image with the following Copic marker combinations:-

Snowman - C3, C1, C0, BG70, YR09, YR04, Y38
Tofu - E43, E41, E40
Green - G29, G28, YG67, YG45
Red - R89, R39, R29
Blushes - R22, R21, R20, R00
White - C3, C1, C0

Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and then I fussy cut the image, backed it with foam tape and applied it to the background.

To complete the card, I used Stickles glitter to glitter the ornaments swinging from the snowman's arms and I dotted in the snow using a stylus and using Dr. Ph Martin's Bleed Proof White which gives you dimensional snow!  I also used Copic C3, C1 and C0 to add shadow under the characters.

Thank you for stopping by!

Purple Onion Designs - Baking Fun

A warm and cosy welcome to my blog today where I have a new card for Purple Onion Designs.  This postcard themed Christmas card features their 'Baking Fun' stamp image illustrated by the amazing Chilliezgraphy by Pei.  I have also used the 'Vintage Postcard Set Add-On' stamps which will help you take care of all of your postcard style cards without the need for purchasing expensive dies.  Also used in this card are the 'Vintage Postcard Set' (for the stamp) and 'Vintage Holiday Postmark Set' (for the postmark).

To kick things off I took a white A2 panel of cardstock and die cut it with the faux stitched edge.  I lay a stencil on the panel and ink blended above the line using Powder Blue ink by The Stamp Market.  I then used the Vintage Postcard Set Add-On images to create the post card image and I delved into my Purple Onion sentiments and found two perfect sentiments to stamp in the appropriate place.

I used Greenery ink by The Stamp Market to stamp the postage stamp image, I fussy cut it and applied with glue.  I was then able to stamp the  postmark and void images.  The panel was backed with a slightly larger striped cardstock which gives it a little bit of an 'air mail' feel and this was backed with white craft foam and applied to a larger white card base.

I stamped the 'Baking Fun' image and coloured it with the following Copic marker combinations:-

Mouse - W4, W3, W1, W0, W00, E41, R000
Cheeks & Ears - R22, R21, R20, R00
Apron & Chef's Hat - B41, C1, C0
Oven Mitt - G29, YG67, G07
Cupcake - E49, E77, E74, E41, E40
Cupcake Wrapper - C1, C0, BG70
Holly & Berries Garnish - RV69, R39, R29, R27, G29, YG67,  G07
Bow - RV69, R39, R29, R27, T7, T5

I highlighted with a white gel pen and fussy cut the image.  I backed it with dimensional foam tape and applied to card.  I added a little shading under the image using the W Copics colours used above for the body of the mouse.

To complete the card I used a little Stickles glitter on certain areas of the cupcake and garnish and then I dotted in snow using a stylus dipped in Dr. Ph.Martin's Bleed Proof White acrylic paint.

Treat yourself to some holiday stamps from Purple Onion Designs  There's a big sale on through December 8th!

Purple Onion Designs - Happy Mail

Welcome to my blog and a brand new holiday card for Purple Onion Designs that was created using the super cute Happy Mail stamp illustrated by Chilliezgraphy by Pei, in combination with their Vintage Postcard Set and Vintage Holiday Postmark Set.

I took an A2 panel of white cardstock and die cut it using The Greetery's Postcard Details Die.  I used the MFT Slimline Drifts & Hills Stencil and ink blended above it using 'Stormy Sky' Distress Oxide Ink.  The panel was glued to a slightly larger striped panel (Lawn Fawn paper) and then this was adhered a slightly larger again, white card base.

I stamped the stamp image using the same Stormy Sky ink and then using black ink I stamped the other elements.

I stamped the Happy Mail image and coloured with the following Copic marker combinations:-

Bear - E43, E31, E41, E40
Penguins - T7, T5, T3, T1
Postbox - R39, R29, R27, R24
Brown - E49, E77, E44, E43
Teal - BG72, BG11
Blushes - R22, R21, R20, R00
Shadows - C5, C3, C1, C0

I highlighted with a white gel pen and fussy cut the image, backed it with foam tape and applied it to the scene where I glittered parts of it using Stickles glitter.

To complete the card, I added snow throughout the scene.  I did this by dipping a stylus into Dr. Ph.Martin's Bleed Proof White acrylic paint.  This gives you the control to add the flakes exactly where you want them and for a realistic look I recommend that you make sure to dot the snow on some of the lines of the illustration.

Last but not least I added three die cut decorative snow flakes.  Mine were made using Hello Bluebird's Frosty Flakes Die.

Another holiday card complete!  Thanks for taking the time to read my blog today and I promise to be back soon with something new.

Purple Onion Designs - Cozy Christmas

Today I'm revealing my first card as a guest designer for Purple Onion Designs brand new Christmas release.   This absolutely adorable stamp image is called 'Cozy Christmas' and it was illustrated by Pei of Chilliezgraphy.  I have also used the 'Vintage Postcard Set' which is perfect for all of us who love the postcard look to our projects.  It is hard to explain the appeal but for me it always lends a beautiful charm.

To create this card I started by using the Postcard Details Die by The Greetery, together with their Postal Modern stamp set.  I used the die to die cut an A2 white cardstock panel.  I used some of the stamp images from the stamp set to add some details.  All stamping on this card was done using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.  I then stamped using images from the Vintage Postcard Set and I used a couple of older sentiments from Purple Onion to form the HAPPY HOLIDAY Celebrate the season message.

I took a stencil from my stash that would give me a snow line.  I placed it at the bottom of the postcard and above it I softly ink blended using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.

I stamped and Copic coloured the Cozy Christmas image, here are the colours used:-

Logs - E31, W3, W1, W0
Fire - YR04,  Y38, Y000
Pup - T6, T5, T4, T2, C3, C1, C0
Bear - E77, E44, E43, E42, E41
Kitty - E31, C3, C1, C0
Fire glow on bodies - Y21, Y000
Blushes - R22, R21, R20, R00
Robin - E44, E43, e42, R05, R22
Mouse - C3, C1
Blue Clothing - B00, BG000, C3, C1, C0
Pink Scarf - R81, RV000, C3, C1, C0

I fussy cut the image, backed it with dimensional foam tape and applied it to the background.

I added a little pink Copic to the stamp image and added a little W1, W0 under the main scene for shadow and to finish thinks off I added snow in a controlled manner by dipping a stylus into Dr. Ph.Martin's Bleed Proof White acrylic paint and the dotting it exactly where I wanted.

Once dry, I attached the postcard scene to my card base and then it was complete!
