Springtime Easter Card - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hello, welcome to my blog!  I have a new card today for Hello Bluebird Stamps and it is Easter themed.   I've combined images from Spring Gatherings and Springtime for this card, they work beautifully together.



The first step was to create the pastel plaid background panel which I did using a 4 part stencil kit by Honey Bee Stamps (although I only used 3 of the 4).   I brushed on Distress Inks using Clarity Stencil Brushes for a super soft look with no hard edges.  I applied this panel to a white cardstock base.



I die cut the Gallery Frame #2 Die and used just the frame which I backed with foam tape and applied to the background.  I then used the Grassy Knoll die to create the section of grass which I delicately ink blended with Distress Ink in Cracked Pistachio.  I stamped the sentiment and backed this portion with foam tape also and applied it within the frame.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped the images from the two stamp sets using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.  I used an array of Copic markers to colour everything and then I die cut and applied them to the background using either a single or double layer of foam tape to achieve some fun depth.



Cheeks were highlighted with a white gel pen and I decided that no other embellishment was needed for this card.

Spring Gatherings - Hello Bluebird

Hello,  I have a new card today using Spring Gatherings from Hello Bluebird Stamps.



This is such a great stamp set since it works as well on its own as I've done here, as it does paired with Easter Egg Hunt.

This card was started with an ink blended panel created with randomly blending Distress Oxides in Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar and Tumbled Glass.  I then die cut the 2 part frame using the Gallery Frame #1 Die.  I backed the frame with foam tape and applied it to the background panel.  Through the larger window I stamped the sentiment with Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil.



On Bristol Smooth cardstock I stamped my images again using the Potting Soil ink.  I watercolour painted the images using the following:-

Tombow ABT 451, 243
Kuretake Zigs in Flesh Colour 071, Pale Pink 028, Light Pink 026, Cool Gray(1) 099, Pale Yellow 055, Oatmeal 064, Mid Gray 096.

The images were die cut and backed with an extra thick foam tape and applied to the scene.



A few points were highlighted with a white gel pen and I stamped Happy Easter inside the card!

Pretty quick and simple design that some of you newer card makers might like to tackle.

Easter Egg Hunt - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hi! I'm still turning out the Easter cards because I'm so inspired by Hello Bluebird's new release!  This card is mostly images from their Easter Egg Hunt stamp set and a few images from Spring Gatherings.



This card started with a panel of white cardstock which I die cut 4 times using the Grassy Knoll die.  I used Distress Oxide Ink in Cracked Pistachio to ink blended each grassy strip and the sky was ink blended with Distress Oxide in Broken China.

I adhered all the pieces back together on the reverse then ran it through my Cuttlebug with a simple pierced edge die.



The sentiment was stamped on a tag from the Stitched Tag Builder die set and applied with foam tape.

All of the other elements from Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Gatherings were stamped onto Bristol Smooth cardstock using Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil.  The images were were watercolour painted using the following - Tombow ABTs in 020 and 451.  Arteza in Sea Foam Green A158. Kuretake Zigs in Brown 060, Mid Gray 096, Dark Brown 062, Cool Gray(1) 099, Dark Brown 062, Light Gray 091, Oatmeal 064, Bright Yellow 052, Orange 070, Light Pink 026, Flesh Colour 071 and Pale Pink 028.  Certain points were highlighted with a white gel pen.

I die cut these cuties and used more foam tape to apply them to the scene and I made sure they were all interacting with one another.

I decided to dot in some teeny tiny dots of white Crystal Nuvo Drops as subtle daisies into the grass and otherwise leave the card unembellished  -  more than enough cuteness on there!  I attached the panel to a 110lb white cardstock base and card complete!

Easter Egg Hunt & Spring Gatherings - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hi!  We're on Day 3 of Previews for the new Hello Bluebird Release (February 15th).  My card today combines two new stamp sets that work as well together as they do separately.  They are called Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Gatherings.



Kicking off I ink blended the background panel using Distress Oxides in Tumbled Glass, Spun Sugar and Spiced Marmalade.  I also die cut a panel using Grassy Knoll and ink blended that with Cracked Pistachio.  Both pieces were die cut to provide the simple pierced edge and the grassy panel was  adhered to the main panel with foam tape to lift it up and in turn the whole panel attached to a prepared A2 110lb sturdy white cardstock base, perfect for weighty and dimensional cards like this.



On Bristol Smooth cardstock my images from both new stamp sets were stamped with Archival Ink in Potting Soil.  Everything was watercolour painted using the following colours - Tombow ABTs in 020 and 451.  Arteza in Sea Foam Green A158.   Kuretake Zigs in Brown 060, Mid Gray 096, Dark Brown 062, Cool Gray(1) 099, Dark Brown 062, Light Gray 091, Oatmeal 064, Bright Yellow 052, Orange 070, Light Pink 026, Flesh Colour 071 and Pale Pink 028.  Phew!!!!!!!

All images were die cut and adhered either directly or with foam tape.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen.



Finishing touches were to stamp the sentiment onto the wavy tag from the Stitched Tag Builder Die, applying it with foam tape and a few sparkling clear sequins were glued in too.
