Pink and Main April Release - Fancy Oval with Bows Dies

Welcome to my blog and my fifth and final card showcasing products from the April release by Pink and Main.  If you have missed my previous four blogposts for this sweet release you may wish to continue scrolling after this one as these were back to back posts.

For this card I used the Fancy Oval with Bows Dies, the Page Turner stamp set and coordinating dies and also the Library Card stamp.

I took a panel of white cardstock and repeat stamped the Library Card image using Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink.  I then came in with Salvaged Patin Distress Oxide Ink and softly ink blended a focal point by coming in around the edges.  I distressed the panel with splatters of Solar Spray in Crocodile Tears and also splatter on some white acrylic paint loosened with a drop or two of water.  I applied this panel to my card base and framed it out with a white die cut created with a die from my stash. This was popped up on foam tape to create dimension.

I took some toning blue cardstock and die cut using the Fancy Ovals die.  I die cut once more from white cardstock and glued the blue to the white.  I also die cut some Lawn Fawn floral paper so that I had the inside cut to insert within the oval frame once I had glued it to the background.

I stamped the two images from Page Turner using black ink and coloured with the following Copic colours:-

Hedgehog - E43, E42, E40 (prickles) E43, E31, E40, R000 (body)
Mouse - C3, C1, C0
Brown - E43, E42, E31, E40
Teal - BG57, BG32, G000
Blushes - R22, R21, R20, R00

Images were die cut, backed with foam tape and applied within the oval frame.

Almost done!  I stamped the sentiment and applied it with foam tape which in turn grounded the mini scene.

For embellishments I added a few clay hearts above the little readers and I used Nuvo Glitter Drops in Aquatic Mist to make 'enamel dots' in the two corners.  I highlighted points with a white gel pen and with that, this card was done!

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate you!

Pink & Main - April Release - Page Turner

Did you hear about the new April release from Pink & Main?  So much to love in this release with a lot of emphasis on reading and book themes along with pretty bows.  Keep scrolling after this post if you'd like to see the first card for this release which I posted yesterday.

For this second card, I have used:-

I created my background first by using using 'Fog' ink by Simon Says Stamp to stamp the Library Card image three times on to a white A2 panel of cardstock. I then came with Salvaged Patina, Scattered Straw and Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide Inks and softly ink blended each library card image.  I glued this to my prepared card base.

I stamped the Page Turner images with black ink and coloured with Copic markers that toned with the background I created.  I used the following colours:-

Cat - E15, E11, E40, C3, C1, C00
Puppy - E43, E42, E40
Turtle - YG95, YG93, E40
Blushes & pink combo - R22, R21, R20, R00, R000
Mint - G00, BG11, BG0000
Yellow - Y21, E50

A few areas were highlighted with a white gel pen and then I die cut the images with the coordinating Page Turner dies.  I popped the panel in my Misti and stamped the sentiment, then backed the die cut images with foam tape and applied to the background.

To finish out the card I die cut a white frame using a frame die in my crafting stash.  I applied this with foam tape and then grabbed some toning coloured Nuvo drops and added droplets.  Once those droplets were dry this card was finished.

I really appreciate you visiting my blog today, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hello Bluebird Stamps - Preview Day 1 of the August Release

It's Preview Day 1 to the August 11th release from Hello Bluebird Stamps.   You can buy the new release starting at 7pm MST.   My first card previews the new 'Page Turner' stamp set which of course comes with coordinating dies.   This is a large A7 card and to build it I used the Nesting A7 Die.

I used the nesting die to create 3 panels using the 3 largest sizes in the set.  I glued these in a stack and with the white top panel I ink blended and then stamped a faint wallpaper design to create a sweet focal point.  The sentiment from the new stamps set was added to the corner.

I stamped the images from Page Turner using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa and I coloured the images with the following Copic marker combinations:-

Green - G19, G07, YG13
Deep Pink - RV17, RV06, RV04
Blue - B24, B23, B12, B41
Browns - E87, E44, E43, E42, E41
Dog/Lampshade - E42, E51, E0000
White - C3, C1, C0
Cat - C5, C3, C1
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00

I added a strip to form the baseboard for a little definition and then die cut the images and applied them in a cosy grouping using dimensional foam tape.

To finish I just used a white gel pen to highlight a few areas and with that the card was complete

Please visit the Hello Bluebird Blog to see many other Design Team cards and to see the stamp sets and dies being revealed today.  Leave a comment for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate.   The chance to comment ends at 4pm MST on the 11th with the winners being announced at 5pm MST before the release goes live at 7pm   Good luck and do come back tomorrow for my next preview card.
