My Favorite Things - August Outside The Box Challenge

For this month's box card challenge, dig out your buildings, houses, and barns to craft anything from urban metropolises to idyllic country scenes. We want to see homes of every shape and size featured in your delightful dimensional cards. So add characters, critters, and other scene-building essentials as you see fit — just get building!

For me card I went with 'idyllic country' drawing inspiration from the landscape around me where I live and my obsession with beautiful barns.

Products used:-

I used 110lb white cover weight cardstock to form the box card and I used Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks to ink blend the feature panels.  I also splashed them with Peacock Feathers and white acrylic paint.   I stamped the sentiment which I borrowed from the 'Green Pastures' stamps set.   These panels were then glued into position on the box card.

I assembled the barn using the same white cardstock plus some Eiffel Tower prestige cardstock by MFT and glued that in place and also die cut the Heartfelt Fence twice, applying one to the back panel and one to the inside of the very front of the card.

Not much colouring on this one, just the cute goat from 'The Whole Herd' stamp set which I coloured with the following Copic markers:-

Goat - E87, E44, E43, E51, C3, C1, C00, R21, R20, R00, R000

I highlighted the goat's cheeks using a white gel pen and adhered it to the front of the card.

Finally, I die cut the Tall Trees and ink blended and distressed them using the same process as the other pieces and adhered them to the scene to nicely frame the barn.   Card complete!

Best of luck with your challenge entry - I hope my card inspired you to get crafty!

My Favorite Things - August Release - Countdown Day 1

This is Countdown Day 1 to tomorrow August release from MFT Stamps.  You can buy the release at 10am Eastern.  My card features the new To The Rescue stamp set together with the new Outside the Box Cityscape Die-namics.

Products used:-

Also used are the Outside the Box Level Up and Grass Die-namics.

I started by using the die-namics to form my box card using grey cardstock and the Black and White Plaid 6 x 6 Paper Pad.  I also cut two grass panels with colours to suit how I'd be colouring the stamp images.  The back panel was stencil ink blended using the Mini Cloud Edge Stencil.

With the box formed using the Cityscape Die-namics I stamped the images from To The Rescue and coloured them with the following Copic markers:-

Blue - B24, B23, B21
Yellow - Y19, Y15, Y06
Red - R29, R08, R05
Superhero Masks - T6, T4, T2

Images were die cut and added to the scene hoisted up on slender pieces of acetate and with that the card was complete.

My Favorite Things - April Outside The Box Challenge

Hello and welcome to a brand new Outside The Box Challenge for the month of April.  I hope you will play along with the challenge and our theme this month is 'people'.   We encourage you to build an Outside the Box card using some of the human stamp images that MFT produces.

Products used in my projects include:-

Cloud Stencil
Cutest Clouds Ever Die-namics

To kick things off I first created my basic box card from sturdy white cardstock.   I used one of MFT's cloud stencils to create the sky backdrop and I used the Grassy Hills die to create the grass.   I stamped the sentiment to the ink blended from panel piece before applying it.

I stamped and coloured the images from Friends At First Sip.   Here are my Copic colours used:-

Greens - YG45, G12, G40
Blues - B97, B95, B93, B91
Whites - T2, T1, T0
Brown Hair - E49, E79, E77, E42
Blonde Hair - E41, E51, E43
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, R21, R20, R00

Images were die cut using the coordinating dies and I adhered the coffee cart and topiary trees to the background panel.   The puppy was adhered to the next layer forwards and the two ladies were adhered to the front most layer to build some nice depth.

Finally, I die cut 3 clouds using the Cutest Clouds Ever Die-namics and ink blended them softly then these were floated behind and above the two ladies using thing strips of acetate.

Best of luck with your entry to the challenge, have fun!

My Favorite Things - Outside the Box Challenge - Birthdays

Hello and welcome to my blog on this Outside the Box Challenge day for My Favorite Things.   There's a new challenge and I'm so in love with the High-Flying Adventures stamp set with coordinating Die-namics that I thought I'd use them again in a somewhat masculine card, albeit with the all the cuteness you might expect.   The theme this month is 'birthdays'.

I created my card foundation using Tropical Teal Prestige cardstock and the Outside The Box Die-namics.  For the decorative outer pieces I used a sheet of Party Plaid 6 x 6 Paper Pad.   For the clouds I used the Outside The Box Cloud Die-namics.   I cut 5 of these and then assembled the box card.

I stamped the sentiment from Magical Dragons with Versamark Ink using the Stitched Sentiment Strips and heat embossed in white. I applied the sentiment strip to the front of the box card.

The High Flying Adventures images were stamped and Copic coloured, die cut using the coordinating Die-namics.   They and the little die cut clouds from the same set were attached using the connective pieces included in the Outside The Box Die-namics set.   Finally a few toning sequins completed this birthday card.

Be sure to visit the MFT Blog for the link to enter your challenge project and a chance to win the prize.  Best of luck to you, thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog today and happy crafting!
