My Favorite Things - Coolest Friends

Thanks for jingling all the way over to my blog today to read the details for this new slimline Christmas card that I've made for My Favorite Things.   Here are the products used in this project:-

I created a background panel by ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks in Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet and Black Soot and creating a soft focal point.  I then did a lot of splashing with water and then mixed white acrylic paint with a drop or two of water to loosen it up and liberally splattered that mixture by tapping it off the end of a small paint brush.

I created 3 edges using the Torn Paper Die-namics and white cardstock and I quickly ink blended with Victorian Velvet and Black Soot so that a little would show before the next layer and so on, on up and these were glued in a stack to the card base.

I stamped the Coolest Friends images with black ink and coloured the images with the following Copic marker combinations:-

Pink - R83, RV11, T5, T3, T1
Penguins - T5, T4, T3, C3, C1, C0, C00, RV000
Snowmen - R83, RV11, RV000, C3, C1, C0, C00
Brown - E43, E42, E40
Bells - Y21, E0000, T2, T0

I used a white gel pen to highlight certain points and create patterns on their scarves etc then die cut the images and applied them with dimensional foam tape.

I die cut the JINGLE letters from Frosted Alphabet and glued the frosting die cuts to the main letter and then basically to finish the rest of the card it was a whole lot of Stickles glitter 'work'.  I made the letter icing ombré by combining white glitter, merging with silver glitter and then a muted pink glitter to fit the theme.  I also dotted the white glitter around amongst the snow and glittered points on the characters and elsewhere and then I dried it with a mini desk fan for an express finish!

My Favorite Thing - August Slimline Challenge

Are you fired up and ready for a brand new Slimline Challenge at MFT Stamps?

Halloween scenes are all the better when they feature lots of space for spooky surprises. So, what better canvas for your creepy creation than a slimline card design? Join the me and other members of the design team this month in creating a Halloween-themed slimline card packed with your Halloween essentials.

Products used:-

So I started out by using Carved Pumpkin and Black Soot Distress Ink to ink blend my background panel.  I backed this panel with craft foam and applied it to a larger black panel.

I stamped a partial sentiment on a white sentiment strip and die cut the word SPELL 3 times over using black cardstock scraps and the Frosted Alphabet Die-namics (didn't use the frosting portion for this project).   These letter were adhered in stacks.

I also used the slimline stencil to create a grounding of black grass.

I stamped the images from the stamp set using black ink and coloured the images with the following Copic colours:-

Black - T9, T6, T5, T3, T1
Orange - YR09, YR07, YR04, Y38
Purple - V17
Moon - YR0000, C3, C1, C0, C00
Green Eyes - YG41, G40
Hair  - C3, C1, C0
Broom - E31, E44, E43, E50
Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, R22, R21, R20, R00

I highlighted with a white gel pen and die cut with the coordinating die-namics and I applied the images to the background using dimensional foam tape.

To finish up, I positioned and glued the sentiments in place and finally I dotted in the stars again with my trusty white gel pen.

My Favorite Things - July Release Day MFT & Friends - Purr-fect Birthday

Woohoo!   The July release is now available from MFT Stamps.   Perhaps you'll pick up the new Yuzu illustrated stamp set Purr-fect Birthday - it is SO adorable!

Products Used:-

I created a mini slimline panel first measuring 6 inches x 3 1/2 inches.  I used the stencil to layer up an entire background of balloons using Salvaged Patina, Dried Marigold and Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks.

At the bottom I added some 'ground' with white cardstock and a little strip of Princess Pink cardstock.

Next I die cut the HAPPY sentiment several times from white cardstock and once more with Princess Pink cardstock.   I glued the letters in stacks finishing with the pink on top and 'iced' the top of each letter in white.  I used a tiny blending brush to add a hint of Peacock Feathers and then the letters were glued to the background and the other sentiments stamped and adhered with foam tape.

The images from Purr-fect Birthday were stamped and coloured with Copic markers.   Here's what I used.

Skin - E04, E11, E21, E00, R21, R20, R00
Hair - E51, E31, E44, E87
Blushes - R21, R20, R00
Greens - GB15, BG13, G00
Pinks - RV02, RV00, RV000
White - C5, C3, C1, C0, C00

I die cut the images and applied them with foam tape.  I added a few highlights with a white gel pen and a few sparkling clear sequins completed the project

Enjoy your shopping, I hope you pick yourself up some treats!
