Happy News .... we've reach release day for the Hello Bluebird Stamps big and beautiful May release. You can buy the release at 7pm MST and I advise you to get there early! My card today reveals the Word Buddies Woodland stamp set which has coordinating dies of course. It is one of two Word Buddies stamp sets being released, check out the other set on the Hello Bluebird Blog and while you are there leave a comment for a chance to win a gift card. Comment by 4pm MST, winners announced at 5pm on the website. My card also features the brand new stand-alone die called You Make Me Smile.
To create my card I took a panel of white cardstock and pink cardstock. I layered the white over the pink and placed the die on top and ran it through my die cutting machine. It cut the white lettering out and embossed the pink panel. I then knew exactly where to place the die and ran it through my die cutting machine on its own. I adhered the pink panel to a plain panel of cardstock and I used the white letters and recessed them in the letter holes on the pink panel. I then die cut the word die 3 or 4 more times and glued the letters in stacks so that they were super chunky and dimensional.
On Copic friendly cardstock I stamp out the entire Word Buddies Woodland set (so I'm all set for future cards) and I coloured all the images with Copic markers. I used the coordinating dies to die cut the images and then played around with selecting which ones worked best for my scene. They were either adhered directly or with a little foam tape to give them support where there is overhang.
To finish the card I simply highlighted a few points with a white gel pen and I resisted the temptation to embellish any further and embraced the relative simplicity and sweetness of the card.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today and happy shopping!
