My Favorite Things - Vault Release - Countdown Day 3

Well howdy everyone!    We've arrived at Countdown Day 3 of the June Vault release of Birdie Brown illustrated stamp sets.   14 stamp sets are being released on June 22nd and My Favorite Things will keep releasing them until they are all available and will stay available from now onwards.  Today I'm sharing a box card using 'Saddle Up & Celebrate'.

Also used in this card is the barn from Barn Die-namics and the Outside The Box Low Profile Die-namics.   The barn just happens to be the exact size needed as a backdrop to your box cards and so I first die cut the pieces required using Moroccan Spice Prestige Cardstock with Milk Chocolate Prestige Cardstock for the roof and regular white cardstock was used for the trim on the windows and barn doors.

Once the barn was constructed I glued it into the back of my formed Outside The Box card.    The layers of grass were die cut using the Outside the Box Grass Die-namics and then I ink blended using Prickly Pear and Jalapeño Popper Premium Dye Inks.   I also splattered on the darker colour for a softer look.

I set this box card to one side and moved on to the next stage.

I stamped all of  the images from Saddle Up & Celebrate and coloured them with Copic markers.   A few finer details such as the gingham checks on the clothing were done with a red gel pen.   A white gel pen was used to highlight certain points on the images.  I used the coordinating die-namics to die cut each image and then adhered them into the box scene.

To finish the card I used paper from the Tiny Check 6 x 6 Paper Pack to finish the box card.   I stamped the sentiment to the piece on the front of the box prior to adhering it.

Box cards are never quick cards to make but they are always worthwhile!

  3. I adore this set and have used it for years to make bday cards but I have not ever seen it used like this; and the barn in the back, pure brilliance! I think this cowpoke and cowgirl are ready to 'saddle on up' and have the best rootin', tootin', bday celebration in this part of the barnyard! So sweet!!!!!!
