My Favorite Things - Color Challenge #169

Welcome to my blog today for a new Color Challenge #169 at MFT Stamps.   I'm sharing an inspiration card and I show the colour palette you'll be working with right below it.

To create my card I first started with the background panel which I stamped using the Scallop Stripe by Stacey Yacula.  I adhered this to a panel of Tropical Teal Prestige cardstock that was a full A2 panel.

I used the Tri-Frame Cover-Up Die-namics and die cut a panel of white cardstock.   I kept one of the negative cuts, ink blended it using Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers and stamped the sentiment from Birthday Chicks.   This frame die cut was then backed with foam tape and adhered to the background panel.

I stamped all of the images from Birthday Chicks and coloured them with Copic markers using the colour palette for the challenge as my guide.   Here are my colours:-

Chicks - E0000, E50, E51
Pinky/Reds R05, R22, R21, R20
Darker teal blend - BG78, BG57, BG49
Lighter teal blend BG49, G00, BG11, G0000

A few points were highlighted with a white gel pen and I then used the coordinating die-namics to die cut the images which I backed with foam tape and adhered to the scene.   I mounted my decorative panel to a sturdy white cardstock base - card complete.

If you would like to enter this challenge please visit MFT's website for the details and link for where you upload your entry.  Maybe you'll be the lucky winner of the $50 prize, good luck!

My Favorite Things - June Release Countdown Day 3

At Countdown Day 3 we've hit the half way point to the new release from My Favorite Things which you will be able to purchase at 10am on June 8th.   My card today features the brand new Stacey Yacula illustrated stamp set called Spa Day and in the background is Scallop Stripe also designed by Stacey.

To create this card I first ink blended a panel of white cardstock using Spun Sugar,  Kitsch Flamingo and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks.   I then used the new Scallop Stripe stamp and stamped it with Versamark Ink and heat embossed in white.

I used dies from the A2 Stitched Rectangles STAX sets 1 and 2 and here to die cut the pink panel and to die cut a yellow panel of cardstock.   To own both sets 1 and 2 gives you more choices and allows for skinnier slivers of colour when layering.   I adhered the outer cut of the pink panel to my white card base.  I backed the yellow panel with white craft foam and adhered that over the pink edge and then glued the main pink portion to the yellow.

I stamped my images from Spa Day on to Copic friendly cardstock and I used my Copic markers to colour them.  I used the coordinating die-namics to die cut the individual images which I backed with foam tape and applied.

I highlighted a few points with a white gel pen and I used Stickles glitter in Crystal to add subtle glitter to the bubbles in the bathtub and the little overspill bubbles on the floor.  I also added a touch more to the underside of the shower head.

Last but not least I chose the punny sentiment (there are many included in the stamp set) and stamped it on to a sentiment strip from Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics.   This strip was of course also backed with foam tape and adhered into position.

I hope you like my super girly card and I now urge you to visit the MFT blog when you have a moment.  See much more from the release items being revealed today and of course you must leave a comment to put yourself in the running to win a $75 gift voucher.

I'll be back tomorrow with a new card so I hope to see you back here then.

Happy crafting!
