My Favorite Things - March Countdown Day 1

 

The gorgeous March release from MFT stamps will be available tomorrow March 7th at 10am Eastern.  Here's what I've used in the making of this CAS card:-

Rectangle Extraordinaire Stencil

A2 Stitched Rectangles Stax Set 2 Die-namics

To kick things off I first used the stencil and I ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks in Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Lost Shadow and Black Soot.  Before removing the stencil I splashed with water and then adding a little white acrylic paint to the water and splashed a little more.  I removed the stencil and die cut using the Stax Die-namics.  I die cut a second panel using a larger size from the Stax Die-namics and stamped the sentiment at the bottom.

I layered the small panel over the larger panel with white craft foam and then the larger panel was adhered to an A2 panel again with more white craft foam ..... let's get that dimension going!  I set this to one side.

I stamped the sweet image from You Deserve The Royal Treatment and I coloured her with the following Copic markers:-

Skin - E33, E11, E21, E00, E000

Hair - RV52, R0000, C5, C3, C1, C00

Blush - RV04, RV02, RV52

Dress - C5, C3, C1, C00

Boots - T7, T6, T5, BV08, C3, C1

Crown and Wand - Y21, T3, T2, T0

I die cut using the coordinating die-namics, highlighted a few points with a white gel pen and then applied to the background using dimensional foam tape.

The finishing touch was to glitter the crown and wand using Stickles in 'Diamond' and I added a few glitter drops into the background for some added twinkle that catches the light prettily when the card is handled.

My Favorite Things - March Release - 3 Days To Go!

Hello, welcome to my blog where today I'm sharing a card for My Favorite Things and a brand new stamp set illustrated by Rachelle Anne Miller called Rainy Day Friends.

To create this card I used Rectangle Extraordinaire Stencil, using just the outer frame of this two piece stencil for my project I ink blended using Distress Oxides in Tumbled Glass and Iced Spruce to create a soft focal point.  I also took the pouring rain image from Rainy Day Friends and stamped that in grey ink.  I removed the stencil and stamped the sentiment.

On Copic friendly cardstock the remaining images were stamped with the same grey ink.   I used Copic markers to colour them and highlighted a few points with a white gel pen.

The images were die cut using the coordinating Rainy Day Friends Die-namics.  I backed the images with foam tape and applied to the card panel.

To 'ground' the images I grabbed some toning Copic markers in the light BG's and added in a little suggestion of ground and shadow.   To finish up I adhered some water splash embellishments.
