Simon Says Stamp - You Are My Favorite Release

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.  Today I am happy to be sharing this 'shabby chic' style card for Simon Says Stamp featuring the 'Flowering Frame' stamp set from today's new 'You Are My Favorite' release.  You can view the entire release HERE.  There's much to be excited about as you'll see and I recommend that you join the Simon Says Stamp livestream on You Tube this Friday April 25th at noon to get an even better look at the products and cards from the designers.  The livestream will be HERE.

This card design started with a sturdy white A2 panel of cardstock which I stamped using one of the three images from the 6 x 8 inch stamp set.  I used a lilac coloured ink and I stamped it off once to the side each time I inked it up and before stamping the actual panel so that I achieved a softer, faded second generation image.  I repeatedly stamped until the panel was covered including going off the edges and I then die cut the panel using the Scalloped Frames Die Set by Alex Syberia to give a simple, pierced looking border.

I took a panel of lilac coloured cardstock from my stash and I used the same pretty, somewhat heart shaped floral image to stamp the two hearts shapes.  To do this I used Versamark Ink and I then heat embossed in white, ultra fine embossing powder.  I used ultra fine due to the intricate nature of the image.

I used a smaller die from the same Scalloped Frames Die Set and die cut the panel, I tied a matching lilac ribbon around it and then I backed it with a piece of white craft foam and adhered the smaller panel to the background.

The Flowering Frame stamp set comes with a generous variety of sentiments, some are cursive and others are simple like the 'get well soon' sentiment I chose for this card, stamping it on a white sentiment strip in a greyish beige ink so that it was quite subtle and didn't compete with the feminine card, I attached it to the card using dimensional foam tape with a single layer under the left 2/3rds and a tiny triple stack under the overhanging edge to support it.

I appreciate you taking time out of your day to read about this card, I hope you enjoyed it.  I encourage you to visit the Simon Says Stamp website and check out all of the amazing new products from the You Are My Favorite release.  Enjoy!
