Hello Bluebird Stamps - August Release Day!!

The day has finally arrived!  Hello Bluebird's new release goes live TONIGHT at 7pm MST.  My card today features the new Sea Friends stamp set which has coordinating dies together with the new Ocean Floor Slimline Scene Die the sentiment is from the new sentiment set called Sea Sentiments and it is stamped onto a die cut from the new Word Bubbles die set.   Be sure to read all the way to the end of my post today in order to learn details for how you can win a $50 gift certificate to put towards your new release purchases.

To create my card I first die cut the Ocean Floor Slimline Scene Die from 110 lb cover weight white cardstock.  I adhered the frame to a slimline panel that I had ink blended with pastel Distress Oxide Inks.  I then uses Copic markers to colours all of the other elements such as the sand, boulders and coral life.  These pieces were then glued into position.

I stamped the images I was needing from the Sea Friends stamp set and coloured them with the following Copic colours:-

Skin - E 33, E11, E21, E00
Hair - E87, E44, E43, E42, E51
Teal - BG75, BG49, B57, BG15, BG32
Fuchia - RV19, RV17, RV06, RV04, RV02
Orange - YR09, YR07, YR04, Y38, Y17, Y15
Blushes - RV42, RV11

I stamped the sentiment in a word bubble that fit the sentiment, applied it with foam tape and proceeded to build my fantasy mermaid scene by adding each element with foam tape.

The finishing touch was the addition of a few bubble embellishments and I took a white gel pen to several areas.  Such a fun project to make, you will love today's preview items!
