My Favorite Things - June Release Countdown Day 2

Many thanks for visiting my blog today to see what is new on this Countdown Day 2 of the My Favorite Things June release which you can buy at 10am on June 8th.  My card today features the new You Keep Me Afloat stamp set and Wavy Lines Stencil.   Read on for all the details!

To create my card I started with the background.  I created a panel that was 5 x 5 inches and layered over the Wavy Lines stencil and I used Distress Oxide in Speckled Egg and I blended it on to a slight fade.  I backed this panel with a piece of white craft foam and then adhered it to a 5 1/4 inch square panel of Amarena Cherry Prestige Cardstock which in turn was adhered to my card base and then set aside.

I stamped out my images from You Keep Me Afloat on to Copic friendly cardstock and I used my Copic markers to colour the images which were then die cut using the coordinating die-namics.   I highlighted a few points with a white gel pen, found my ideal layout and then backed each image with dimensional foam tape and applied.

I stamped the sentiment onto a sentiment strip from Essential Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics and applied this with more foam tape.

I applied a few sparkling clear sequins for some interest and with that the card was complete!

Thank you visiting with me today.   Be sure to swing by the MFT Blog and see what else is new and see other inspiration and don't forget to comment for a chance to win a $75 gift voucher!   Good luck!

Hope to see you back here tomorrow for one final day of new reveals.  Happy crafting!

  1. Love the colour scheme of your card. It "floats my boat". (pun intended) lol

  2. Like the aqua background of your card. It's not quite matchy-matchy with your other blues but blends nicely. The red backing sets it off perfectly.

    1. Hello! I believe what I used here was E0000, E40,E41 and E42 with probably W2 or W3 for shadow. Try that combo and don't feel like you can't leave the focal part of the face uncoloured. You could substitute E42 for E51 - that would be pretty! 🤗
