Halloween Party - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hi!

It is so much fun to be entering into the new season of card making and I have so many cards to share with you with a Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas theme.

Today is a Halloween type day and this is Halloween Party by Hello Bluebird Stamps.  This stamp set forms part of the huge new release.

My card features an ink blended background on Bristol Smooth cardstock.  I used several shades of Distress Inks to achieve this affect.  It was then splashed with water and blotted up and then splattered again with a white acrylic paint that I loosened up with a tiny bit of water so that it splattered better.  I then took Hello Bluebird's 'Halloween Scene' Die from the new release and die cut it once from black cardstock.  It cuts pieces like a jigsaw puzzle and you put it back together again only using the portions of the scene you want to use - I chose to leave out the black frame piece for a slightly deconstructed look.

I applied the black die cuts to the scene.  On more Bristol Smooth I hand stamped and watercolour painted the cute characters and the string of lights using my Kuretake Zigs.  I die cut the finished images and applied them to the scene using dimensional foam tape.

I stamped in the fun little sentiments and finished out the scene by applying a mix of stars and jewels that tone with the background and which add a fun glint when the card is handled.

Finishing out the card I applied the decorative panel to a black cardstock base and inside the card I used 80lb weight paper to create a white writing insert.  This card feels very substantial due to all the layering.

Hope you like the card!  Feel free to leave me comments and any questions you may have, I'd love to hear from you!

  1. I love this so much! I love your color combinations here. What Copic colors did you use to cover the animals If you don’t mind my asking?

    1. Thank you Beth! I only ever watercolour paint my projects with Kuretake Zigs I don't use Copics ever so I'm afraid I cannot help you with your question. Thank you for stopping by the blog today though.
