My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge - WSC585

Well a warm welcome to a brand new Wednesday Sketch Challenge you might like to participate in.   This is WSC585, please read on for details on this simple inspiration card and to see the sketch you are working with this time around.

I immediately saw the opportunity for some bubbles when I saw this sketch and to that end I took a panel of white cardstock and the Basic Shapes Circles Stencil and using Distress Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Cracked Pistachio, Speckled Egg and Spun Sugar I ink blended each circle - carefully selecting the different sizes.   This panel was then adhered to an A2 panel of Princess Pink cardstock.

For the pretty sentiment I used the new Thinking Of You Die-namics.   Die-cutting once in grey cardstock and once more in the Princess Pink.  I glued the pink to the grey slightly offsetting it for a subtle shadow effect.   This was then glued to the card background.

For the finishing touch I used 3 different sizes of sparkling clear sequins.

Wishing you the best of luck with your entry, maybe you'll be the lucky winner of a gift voucher!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #550

Hello friends!   Ready for a brand new MFT Stamps, Wednesday Sketch Challenge?  Our new one is #550.   Read on for my inspiration card and to see the sketch you are going to be working with.

To create my card I first took a slimline panel of white cardstock and I used Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink to ink blend the ocean using the Slimline Drifts and Hills Stencil as my guide.  I applied more ink to the bottom section than the top.

I used the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink to create the sky and then I die cut the panel using the Slimline Starter Die-namics.   I backed the panel with white craft foam and applied it to a full size slimline panel of cardstock created using Poppin' Pink Prestige cardstock.  This in turn was applied to my card base.

I stamped my images from You Keep Me Afloat and used Copic markers to colour them.  Here are my colours:-

Bunny and Crab E43, E42, E41, E0000
Oranges YR07, YR14, FYR1
Pinks RV04, RV02, FRV1
Blues B04, B12, B41
Greys W2, W0

All images were die cut using the coordinating die-namics, backed with foam tape and applied.

I created two sentiment strips using the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics and on the pink one I stamped the sentiment using Versamark Ink and heat embossed in white, I then adhered the two together per the sketch and backed it with foam tape and stuck it down.

Finally, I added a few finishing touches like highlights and bubbles with a white gel pen.

Have fun creating your entry into the challenge - good luck!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge 547

It's Wednesday and so there's a new Sketch Challenge over at My Favorite Things.   This is Challenge #547 which I hope you'll join in with for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher.   Here is my inspiration card followed by the actual sketch you'll be work with.

To create this card I first stamped a background panel using the Happy Birthday Background Stamp.  I sized this panel to be smaller than A2, backed it with a panel of white craft foam and then layered it over an A2 panel which in turn was applied to my card base.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped my images from the newly release from the vault Birthday Bears  stamp set illustrated by Birdie Brown.  I used a light grey ink so that I could colour with my Copics in a no-line style.

Bear E43, E42, E41 and E40
Pinks R20, R30, R00 and R000
Greens G00, G000 and G0000
Yellows Y02, Y00 and Y0000
Shading W1 and W00

I used the Birthday Bears coordinating die-namics to die cut these images which I backed with foam tape and applied to the panel.

To follow the sketch I created 3 equal sized sentiment strips and I used the colour combinations above to make an ombré affect.   I then stamped the sentiments from Essential Sentiments using a second generation stamp and Gravel Gray Premium Dye Ink.   I wanted the stamping to be soft and distressed looking in keeping with the feel of the card.  These were backed with foam tape, aligned and applied.

Above is a zoomed in image of my finishing touches which included Stickles glitter on the party hat, gifts and candle flames and whilst it doesn't show here I also used Nuvo Crystal Glaze to make the icing on the cake lovely, glossy and dimensional.

Best of luck with your entries, I look forward to seeing what you create.  Happy crafty time!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #538

Welcome to my blog everyone!  My Favorite Things has a brand new Wednesday Sketch Challenge #538 and here I am sharing my card to help inspire you in the hope that you join in the fun and enter your project for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher.

To create my card I used Poppin' Pink Premium Dye Ink and the Lined By Hand background stamp to create a panel slightly smaller than my 5 x 5 inch card base.   This panel was backed with white craft foam and applied to the base.

I used the Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics and die cut 3 sizes to suit the sketch.   I also prepared a strip of Cotton Candy cardstock and repeat stamped HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the Mice Day stamp set using Versamark Ink and heat embossed in white.

I backed the circles and the sentiment strip with foam tape and applied them to the background.

I took some Copic friendly cardstock and stamped 3 of the images from Mice Day.   I coloured them with the following Copic markers:-

Mice:  E0000, E40, E41, E42, W4, W2 and R00 and R20 for the cheeks and ears and feet.

Candles, Cake and Hats:  Y21, Y23, Y17, RV02, FRV1, G00, BG34, R000 and W0, W2, W3

Images were die-cut using the coordinating Die-namics.

Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and then the cupcake was applied with a single layer of dimensional foam tape and the mice were applied with two!

To finish up and to make it such a fun card, I randomly applied some glue to the icing on the cupcake and sprinkled on some colourful embellishments and I tapped off the excess.  Messy ..... but worth it!  You could use all number of different glitters or shaker fillers to elevate your cupcake to the next level!!

So that is my completed card and I look forward to seeing what you all create.  Happy crafting!

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #534

Welcome to my blog and another Wednesday Sketch Challenge #534 for My Favorite Things.  This challenge is for a slimline card and here below is my inspiration card.  I certainly hope you play along for a chance to win a $50 gift card to MFT.  You need to visit the MFT blog for the link to enter your challenge card.

To create this card I used the Basket Weave stencil together with Distress Inks in Spun Sugar and Seedless Preserves and I used Clarity Stencil Brushes to brush on the ink.  I first positioned the stencil top left of the panel and then once I'd ink blended to a fade I repositioned it to the bottom right hand corner and repeated the ink blending towards the centre of the panel leaving an area with barely any ink on it for a focal point.  I used the Slimline Starter Die-namics and die cut the stencilled panel.   I adhered this panel to a slimline panel of Grapesicle Heavyweight Cardstock.

I used the Skinny Strips Die-namics to die cut 6 sentiment strips from Grapesicle, Cotton Candy and Princess Pink Cardstock.  I stamped the sentiments from Wish You Were Hare to the strips, backed them with foam tape and carefully aligned them per the sketch and applied them.

I stamped the adorable Hare from the stamp set on Copic friendly cardstock.  I used Copic markers to colour the image, points were highlighted with a white gel pen and I then used the coordinating Die-namics to die cut the image which I backed with foam tape and applied it perched on the sentiment strip to ground it.

Last but not least I stamped the mini hearts and added a little colour  to them and finished with a few sparkling clear sequin accents.

I'd love it if you entered the challenge and I wish you the best of luck.

My Favorite Things - Wednesday Sketch Challenge #533

Hello and welcome to my blog.  My card today is for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #533.  Please find below this week's challenge sketch.

My take on this week's challenge was to use the Grassy Hills Die-namics to create the wavy lines at the bottom.  These sections were individually ink blended and distressed with water and paint splashes before being backed with foam tape and applied to a background panel that had been ink blended and distressed using MFT's Poppin' Pink Ink.

I stamped the images from 'Being With You' on Copic friendly cardstock and Copic coloured my images.  Images were cut using the coordinating Die-namics.   Some were adhered directly and others using dimensional foam tape.  I layered over the branch with the sentiment stamped to a die cut from the Skinny Strips Die-namics.

To finish up the card I applied a few small sparkling clear sequins and applied the decorative panel to a sturdy white cardstock base.

Please head on over to the My Favorite Things Blog for more sketch inspiration as well as a link to upload your sketch creations.  I appreciate you coming by my blog today!
