Hello Bluebird Stamps - July Release - Little Hugs

 

Friends, the wait is over, Hello Bluebird Stamps have a darling new release which you can buy on July 10th at 7pm MST.  This is day 1 of previews so do come back tomorrow and the next day to see more product reveals.  Here's what I've used to make this card and gift tag duo:-

I used Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, Lost Shadow and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks to ink blend the soft background of the main panel.  I backed this panel with a panel of white craft foam and glued it to an A2 panel of white cardstock then to my card based.   I set this to one side.

I die cut the Photo Stack die three times and I also die cut the components I was needing from the Stitched Tag Builder.  I used the same ink combination to ink blend the backgrounds in both of those but added a little suggestion of grass using Hero Arts reactive ink in Fog and Arctic.   I distressed these backgrounds by spritzing on water and water mixed with a dot of white acrylic paint and then assembled the parts.  I glued the three outer frames of the Photo Stack Die together in a stack then to the card base then glued the background with the frame.

I stamped the images from Little Hugs using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.  I also stamped the blossoming tree limb from the Picked For You stamp set.   Here are my Copic colours:-

Foxes - E33, E11, E21, W3, W1, C3, C1, C00

Bunnies - E31, E41, E40, W3, W1

Blushes - R22, R20, R00

I backed the images with dimensional foam tape and applied to the backgrounds.  I highlighted with a white gel pen.

Last but not least the sentiments.   I die cut using the Love You Words Die 3 times and glued the words in stacks and then to the card and then stamped the mini sentiments on little strips of cardstock and applied with foam tape.

Wooden hearts were the finishing touch!

Winter Woods Overlay Die - Hello Bluebird Stamps

I have a new card for Hello Bluebird Stamps today that I made for fun (one can never have too many Christmas cards on hand at this time of year)!    No stamping at all on this card - I think that's a first for me.  This card uses the Winter Woods Overlay Die that comes with its own snowman!



To create this card used red ink and Black Soot Distress Oxide Ink to darken the edges of a panel  of red cardstock to make a lovely focal point.  I splattered this panel with white acrylic paint and set it aside to fully dry.



A panel of white cardstock was taken and the Winter Woods Overlay die cut.   The frame was backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.  The large centre negative cut was retained and I used the Hill and Dale die to cut a wavy hill for the snowman to eventually stand on.  This was also backed with foam tape, recessed and applied.



The different parts of the snowman were die cut and coloured with Copic markers, highlighted and decorated with a white gel pen and then assembled.  He was backed with yet more foam tape and applied to the scene.

The sentiment was stamped on a speech bubble from Photo Stack and applied.

Spooky Spellers - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hey there!  I'm back with a new card for Hello Bluebird Stamps today.  This card features the new Spooky Spellers stamp set and in order to get in all the cuteness I made it a slimline card.

A slimline card measures 8 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.  I created a card base and set it to one side and then created a panel for the background.  To create the moon I found a circle die in my stash and die cut some masking paper.  I wanted my moon to have a faux stitched edge for fun and so I chose a die with a pierced edge so that when I ink blended around it I'd get the stitched look.  The moon mask was adhered to the centre of the panel and then I came in first with Dried Marigold Distress Oxide Ink and blended over and around the moon mask.  Next I came in with Carved Pumpkin over the whole panel but not too close to the moon's edge and then I doubled back and used Picket Fence to brighten the halo around the moon.  Finally I used Black Soot to add a mysterious dark foggy feeling.



I removed the moon mask and with a little of the residual ink left on my blending tool from the Black Soot I delicately dragged it across the moon's surface to make it look like the fog drifting across.  This panel was attached to the card base and set aside.

I die cut two sections of slate coloured cardstock with the Grassy Knoll die to form the ground.  These were adhered into position.



On Bristol Smooth cardstock the Spooky Spellers were all stamped using Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black.  I watercolour painted them using Kuretake Zigs in Bright Yellow, Orange, Light Green, Natural Gray, Light Pink, Brown, Warm Gray 2, Oatmeal, Mid Gray and I also used a Tombow ABT in 977.

All images were die cut and adhered using dimensional foam tape.  I found some peach toned cardstock and die cut the letters for the word SPOOKY  and adhered these into position.

I used speech bubbles from the Photo Stack die to stamp the sentiments and these were also backed with foam tape and attached.



Time to attach some sparkle!  I went into my sequins stash and found some flat gold stars to put into the sky and a variety of other toning sequins tucked here and there amongst the Spooky Spellers.

Field Mice and the Country Gingham Background Stamp - Hello Bluebird Stamps

Hello Bluebird Stamps are having a 'Background Bash' where we are promoting the use of background stamps.  There will be SIX new designs in the shop but also some of the formerly released designs are back in stock.  This card uses the Country Gingham Background Stamp which is restocked and the Field Mice stamp set together with the Photo Stack Die.  All new background stamps and old ones will be available for purchase on the 26th July!



I used Versamark Ink and stamped the Country Gingham background then heat embossed in white.  I love how it pops on the kraft cardstock background and how it looks a little distressed.  This panel was then die cut to give it the simple faux stitched edge and was attached to a sturdy 110lb white cardstock card base.



Using the Photo Stack die I die cut 3 white photo frames and 6 pink photo frames.  I glued these in stacks with the pinks underneath so that you get a little glimpse of it from a side angle.  The negative cuts were ink blended using Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar and Twisted Citron, I also splattered some of the green into the pink sky and used a mini tuft of grass image from Field Mice and again used the Twisted Citron to stamp that.



The backgrounds were recessed back through the opening of each photo frame and taped into position on the reverse.  Each stack was adhered to the decorative panel like they were casually thrown on a table.

I stamped 3 of the mice from Field Mice with Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil on to Bristol Smooth cardstock.  I watercolour painted them using Kuretake Zigs in Beige, Green Gray and Light Pink and highlighted their cheeks and ears with a white gel pen.  They were then die cut, backed with foam tape and adhered in each photo scene.



The finishing touches were to die cut the word Smile from Photo Stack 4 times in pink cardstock, I glued them all together and then glued it to the scene.  Finally, I used Nuvo Crystal Drops to create the dimensional and glossy pink accents that finish out the card.

Bee Happy - Hello Bluebird

Bees just make me happy and so the Bee Happy stamp set by Hello Bluebird seems tailor made for me and I keep going back to it.  This card also uses the word die 'Smile' from the new Photo Stack die set.

This card started with an A2 panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock and I ink blended it first with Distress Oxide in Dried Marigold with deep colour around the outside to start creating a lighter central focal point and then I came in with Wild Honey (seemed appropriate!) to further deepen the outside to a rich golden hue.  I use Bristol Smooth because you can trust me when I say the ink goes on like butter!

Once this was dry I used my Embossing Buddy to prep the surface for stamping and heat embossing.  I stamped the hexagon images from the stamp set with Versamark Ink and heat embossed in gold.  This panel was then die cut with the wonky stitched edge which is from Cloud 9 by Mama Elephant.

On more Bristol Smooth cardstock I stamped my bee images using Ranger Archival Ink in Potting Soil.  I watercolour painted them using the following colours :- 

Tombow ABT's in 991 and 451

Kuretake Zigs in Dark Gray 095 and Light Pink 026

I die cut the images and applied them to the scene with dimensional foam tape.  I highlighted some points on them with a white gel pen.

The Smile sentiment from Photo Stack was die cut 4 times from 110lb white cardstock and each die cut was adhered to the next.   I then glued it to the scene and on a strip of white cardstock I stamped the smaller sentiment and applied that with foam tape.

Finishing touches were fun because I had these little wooden hexagon shaped embellishments from Queen and Co. that just seemed to work perfect.  Since I'm crazy for a little twinkle on my cards I had these tiny flat iridescent sequins in a mix that I also adhered.  They barely show until you handle the card and then you get a little glint .... I love that kind of subtlety!  Finally I stamped the sweet little bee trails.

Applied the decorative panel to my 110lb cardstock base and another card is complete.
