Alex Syberia Designs February Release & Giveaway

My first card for this release and blog hop showcases the following new products:-

The border was created using the ever useful and formerly released 'Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set'.

I started with a panel of very pale and muted shade of pink cardstock.  I created the background using the Tiny Flowers Stencil and Distress Oxide Inks in Spun Sugar, Saltwater Taffy, Worn Lipstick and Spiced Marmalade.  I then using the Quilted Rectangles Die to give the panel the interesting edge.

I created the love tickets using the Love Tickets Die from the same pink cardstock and then used the coordinating stamp set to stamp the images and sentiments.  Images were stamped with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink and I used just a tiny bit of the same ink to shade around the edges of the tickets and around the edges of the main panel.  These tickets were applied with foam tape.

To finish, I embellished the card by creating die cut flowers using dies from the Charming Medallions Die Set and to which I added ink colouring to repeat the colours already used.  These were pieced together and backed with foam tape and applied.  A few sparkling clear sequins completed the card.

To make this card I took a panel of patterned cardstock from my stash and over this I layered a white die that was created using the new 'Delicate Frame & Friend Die Set'.  I adhered the frame to the patterned panel and recessed the white centre within it glueing in place.

I stamped and coloured the largest image from the new 'Lovely Day' stamp set and coloured with Copic markers to tone with the original patterned panel then I die cut and applied it to the centre panel with foam tape.

Copic markers used were:-

Greens - BG57, BG34, BG23, BG32, G00, YG41

Yellows - Y15, YR32, Y0000

To complete the card I used the 'Hello & Hugs Die Set' which also forms part of the the new release.  The word 'hugs' comes in two parts and I die cut the background piece from white and the top word from pale greeny blue cardstock and then using Copic markers I added a little Ombré affect before glueing the two parts together then applying with foam tape across the bottom of the flowers to complete the card.

Alex Syberia Designs Christmas Release & Giveaway

To create my first card for this release I have used the following Alex Syberia Designs products:-

Winter Foliage Die Set (sprigs of fir)

I began by taking an A2 panel of white cardstock and ink blending it from the bottom left up towards the top right and fading as I went.  I used Distress Oxide Ink in Rustic Wilderness to achieve this.  I then die cut the panel using the Sparkly Flakes Cover Die and I splattered white acrylic paint over it all in a fine spray created with my craft toothbrush.  I adhered the green panel to a slightly larger panel of sparkly silver cardstock found in the Black & Silver Mix Cardstock pack and in turn this was adhered to my card base and set to one side.

I used the Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set to create the white frame which I backed with foam tape and applied to the green panel.

I created four postage stamps using the Merry Mail stamps and dies and I kept them simple and white so they'd pop against the background I had created.  I also stamped the four images and sentiment and I coloured the images with the following Copic markers:-

Green - G28, YG67, YG45, G12

Red - R59, R39, R29, R27, R24, R14, R22

White - C5, C3, C1, C0

I highlighted with a white gel pen then die cut and applied the images to the stamps with foam tape.  I arranged each stamp and then backed them with foam tape too and adhered in position. Lots of dimension!

Time to add some sparkle!  I used the same silver glitter cardstock from the largest panel and die cut sprigs of fir from the Winter Foliage Die Set and red glitter cardstock was used in conjunction with the Jingle Bell Joy Die Set to create the berries.  The red glitter cardstock can be found HERE.  I inserted and glued the little bunches of 'greenery' to the lower left and upper right corners.

The final step was to apply some Fairy Jewels by Open Studio just to take the eye around the festive design.

Alex Syberia Designs - Bow-Ho-Ho Release & Giveaway

 

Hello friends!  Welcome to my blog where today Alex Syberia Designs is launching their new Bow-Ho-Ho release and we are having a Blog Hop & Giveaway so do read on all the way to the bottom of this post for the giveaway details.

To create this card I have used the new 'Christmas Bouquet Die Set', together with the formerly released 'Noel Die'.  The Christmas Bouquet Die Set is very large and can create endless beautiful designs.

I used the main die for this set which cuts an outline upon which you can build all of the winter flowers, leaves and berries.  I decided to make this a shaped card and so I die cut twice from sturdy white cardstock, I scored the top of the back panel, applied strong tape and adhered the front and back together, so now the card is 'hinged' and YES, this card stands up level!

Using three different shades of red cardstock and some greys through to browns plus some sparkling gold and silver shimmer, I die cut all of the blooms and leaves and berries.  I then die cut the main panel that slightly embosses at the same time and this shows where you want to adhere each element.  Tip:  You will want to start with the berries and leaves first and work your way up to the flowers going on last.

To finish the card I  die cut white and shimmering gold cardstock to form the two parts of the sentiment  which I then glued in place.  Can you imagine this card re-imagined in lots of different colour combinations?  Treat yourself and you'll be sending out some very impressive Christmas cards this year!

Alex Syberia Design - New Release Instagram Hop Day!

 

Welcome to my blog!  I hope you have navigated your way here today from my Instagram profile where the Alex Syberia Designs Design Team are enjoying a hop and giveaway event filled with amazing inspiration from all of the designers!

To make this flamboyant card I have used:-

Summer Flower Press Plate (NEW!)

Essential Sentiments Press Plates (NEW!)

To create the card I used my hot foil machine not the BetterPress platform.  I used gold foil for both the flower and the sentiment.  I also die cut the sentiment with the dies included in the Essential Sentiments set.

Once foiled I coloured the flower image using the following Copic markers:-

Petals - E44, YR24, Y15, E50

Flower Centre - E49, E77, E44, E43, E41

I trimmed the panel down just a little, I wrapped a strip of heavyweight vellum around it and I backed the whole panel with white craft foam and adhered to a sturdy A2 white card base.

The simple finishing touch was to apply the sentiment which I added with foam tape to continue the dimension.

I absolutely LOVE this incredible Summer Flower, it really packs a punch! Release is available now, shop until you drop!

My card today has used the following products:-

Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set

I used a die from the Good Day die set to create a smaller than A2 white panel with a decorative edge.  I glued this panel to a white A2 card base.

I hot foiled using the Peony Blossoms press plate instead of using the BetterPress (remember, press plates do both)!  I used gold foil and then used Copic markers in RV04, RV02, RV00, RV000, Y00 and Y000 to colour the blooms, inspired by some peonies in our own garden.  Leaves were coloured with YG67, YG13 and YG11.

I fussy cut the image and backed it with foam tape and applied to the white background.

I hot foiled the Essential Sentiments all in one go so that I had this sentiment and all of the others for future projects.  I used a holographic gold for a little dazzle to do this and the set comes with a coordinating die ... who doesn't like die cutting their sentiments beautifully?  I applied the sentiment with more foam tape and a few flat cup gold sequins were adhered to complete the floral design.

I'll be back on Friday July 4th with a second card using products from the release.  The Design Team will be holding an Instagram Hop that day with lots of inspiration.
