My Favorite Things - March Card Kit Countdown - Cats and Plants

Release day is here and you can now get your hands on the brand new and super cute Cats and Plants Card Kit by My Favorite Things.  This is my third and final inspiration card playing with this kit.  If you missed my other two posts just keep scrolling after you've finished reading this one!

This card started with the sentiment which I just loved because just imagine what a bored cat can get up to what with lots of plants to batter and a fishbowl .... endless possibilities!   I ink blended a panel of white cardstock softly using Distress Ink in Stormy Sky.   I then took a second panel and used the largest circle from Inside & Out Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics to die cut the circular opening.  I backed this panel with dimensional foam tape and adhered it to the ink blended panel.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped my images from Housecats and I used Copic markers to colour the images and a white gel pen to highlight points.  I used the co-ordinating Die-namics to die cut these images.  I also die cut some of the Cat and Plant Perches Die-namics from kraft cardstock and included in the kit.  To build dimension some elements were adhered directly and some were added with foam tape.

The sentiment was added and a few water droplet type embellishments were adhered to finish up the scene.

You're going to find endless possibilities with this card kit so I hope you treat yourself and check out what the other Design Team members came up with!  Happy crafting!

My Favorite Things - March Card Kit Countdown, Cats and Plants - Day 1

Welcome to my blog and a new card where I'm featuring the My Favorite Things March card kit called Cats and Plants.   The kit will be available to buy March 23rd, so mark your calendars for that!

To create this card I first ink blended a panel that is slightly smaller than A2 using Distress Oxide Inks in Seedless Preserves and Kitsch Flamingo.   I also used a little more ink to splatter on some interest.    Once fully dry, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed in white.  This panel was backed with a piece of which craft foam which in turn was adhered to a panel of kraft cardstock.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped my images from 'Housecats'  and coloured them with Copic markers.   I used the coordinating Die-namics to die cut the images which I backed with foam tape.  Included in the kit is a Die-namics set called Cat & Plant Perches and I used those to create the stands you see.   Everything was adhered into position after I'd settled on an arrangement.

I adhered the decorative panel to a sturdy white cardstock card base and added 3 sparkling clear sequins as subtle accents.

I will be back tomorrow with more inspiration from the Cats and Plants Card Kit and so I hope you'll join me then.  Meanwhile I hope you can carve out some crafty time for yourself!
