Hello everyone and welcome to my blog where I'm sharing my first card for the absolutely stunning new collection from Spellbinders called 'Spring In Kyoto' which was designed by Alex Syberia Designs. The release was inspired by the timeless elegance of Asian aesthetics and brings together simplicity, grace and charm.
This collection is so beautiful and something truly different to get creative with. The release is available from both Alex Syberia Designs and Spellbinders and I have linked to the products in both shops below.

To create my card I started with a soft pale pink A2 panel of cardstock. I very lightly misted it with water before popping it into the Floral Fans 3D Embossing Folder and running it through my Big Shot. Instant magic! I glued this panel to my prepared card base and framed it out in white using the Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set. This frame was applied with dimensional foam tape.
I pulled together my colour scheme by going through my cardstock scraps and then began die cutting the different elements from the Kokeshi Dolls Die Set. With everything die cut, I methodically glued all of the different elements together and then using the same colours of cardstock, I also used the Fan & Bow Etched Die Set to create a semi open fan (the die set will create a fully open fan if you wish). I tucked the fan under the doll's sleeve and adhered in place. I then applied the doll to the background with more foam tape.
To complete the card I used the Blossoms & Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set to create the sentiments strip which I hot foiled in gold. Once again I applied this element with foam tape and I tucked the very top just under the edge of the frame.
I had a few flower parts left over and so I used those as accents to complete the card.
Thank you for coming by to read how I made this card, I hope you can treat yourself to this collection or at least parts of it because it really is so beautiful.
I will be back with a new card featuring products from the collection on Tuesday, May 13th!
