My Favorite Things - October 2019 Release
It's the big holiday release day at My Favorite Things and I feel very honoured to have been invited to join them for their MFT and Friends Feature with these four cards I'm sharing below. The release is packed full of holiday goodness so be sure to check out what the rest of the design team have been creating both on Instagram and over on the MFT Blog.
For my first card I put the new Christmas sELFies front and centre.
For this A2 sized card I used the new Ho Ho Ho background stamp and Versamark Ink then I heat embossed in red.
I chose two of 6 optional images from the sELFies stamp set, stamping them onto Bristol Smooth cardstock and then watercolour painting using Kuretake Zigs. Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and I used Stickles glitter to add the necessary Christmas twinkle!
I framed out the images using some now discontinued square frame dies by My Favorite Things but you can easily recreate what I've done with other square frame dies or even their Precious Poloroid Die-namics of course.
The card was assembled by slightly trimming the background panel and adhering it to the card base (a nice and sturdy 110lb weight) and then the selfie pics were applied with foam tape. The sentiment was stamped and applied and a few sparkling clear sequins finish out the scene.

My second card today uses the new Merry Wishes stamp set as illustrated by Stacey Yacula.
This is one of my slimline cards measuring 8 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches. A card of this size fits a size 9 envelope perfectly.
To create this card I ink blended a panel with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink and stamped the sentiment. I used a white gel pen to hand draw in the falling snow and applied it to a 110lb white cardstock base.
I used dies that cut 'hills' from Surf & Turf another discontinued die set but I'm sure you have some dies that are up to the task and I die cut two lengths of hills. I used a little more Peacock Feathers to softly edge the snow edges and applied them to the background.
On Bristol Smooth cardstock the images were all stamped then watercolour painted using Kuretake Zigs. They were die cut, backed with foam tape and applied to the scene. I used Stickles glitter to glitter up some areas like the snowy roof and the edges of the snow and I used Nuvo drops for the tree lights.
Here's a couple of close-ups!

My third card is a young and fun gift card holder that uses the new Christmas Crew - Reindeer Die-namics on an A2 card.
The die-namics make this card a breeze to create. I started with the background which was created by ink blending Distress Ink in Lucky Clover and then deepening the edges softly using Distress Oxide Ink in Black Soot. I splashed some white acrylic paint across the panel that I'd loosened with a little water and set it aside to dry after attaching to the card base.
I created my own gift card pocket by trimming two pieces of kraft cardstock to 4 inches x 2 5/8 inches. I used Scor-Tape to adhere the front to the back along 3 edges. I die cut all the other components from the Christmas Crew - Reindeer Die-namics from the relevant colour and type of cardstock and adhered everything in place.
Finally, points were highlighted with a white gel pen, the gift card pocket was attached with dimensional foam tape after stamping the sentiment. A variety of sparkling clear sequins finished out the scene.

For my final card I returned to the Merry Wishes stamp set illustrated by Stacey Yacula but I also used the new Merry and Bright Die-namics.
This is another of my slimline cards and I ink blended a panel which Distress Oxide Ink in Blueprint Sketch leaving a loosely faded line for where the snow starts which gives the illusion of blowing snow across the surface. I then splattered on some white acrylic painted loosened with a little water.
I die cut white cardstock with the Merry and Bright die 3 times and adhered each to the next then applied to the scene.
The characters from Merry Wishes were stamped and watercolour painted then backed with foam tape and adhered.
To finish out the card I stamped and heat embossed the word Christmas on a strip of pink cardstock and backed it with foam tape before applying.
Finally I delved into my substantial sequin and embellishment stash and found these dimensional snowflakes and hearts and glued them into place.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today to share in the fun that I had working with this fabulous holiday release. Hope you enjoyed everything.
Happy crafting!
Nicky x
