Donut Treats

Gosh I do love a donut ... I must confess!  I loved making these two cards using the new Donut Treats from Mama Elephant who I'm guest designing for just now.  Donut Treats is an adorable new stamp set for the upcoming May release.

For this first card, I ink blended a panel in oranges and pinks and attached it to the card base.  Next I die cut a frame using Framed Tags - Hug It Out and applied it with foam tape.

Separately on Strathmore Bristol Smooth watercolour cardstock I stamped all the other card components with archival ink and watercolour painted them and then they were die cut. I randomly applied glue to the icing on the donuts and then dipped them into chunky glitter to give a crusted sugary look and of course they twinkle big time!

I layered all the little characters into the scene on varying amounts of foam tape for depth.  The finishing touch was the application of some Nuvo drops in different colours.

Can't wait to see what everyone does with this seriously cute stamp set!

Now for my second card of the day but using the same stamp set - Donut Treats.

I went seriously Clean and Simple for this one ... an exercise in restraint for me but still bringing the cuteness!  I cut an A2 white cardstock panel.  Into this I die cut the window opening which is done from the 'window' included in the new Basic Rectangles Creative Cuts die set.  I stencil ink blended the clouds to the front of the card base and then adhered the window cut panel over the top popped up on foam tape.  I then stamped, die cut and watercolour painted two of the little mice from Donut Treats and applied them peaking out of the window ... I think they're looking for donuts!  I stamped the sentiment and applied it.  Then we go inside the card ......

Inside I've applied in the lower right hand corner another little mouse peeking out from behind 2 donuts with candles.  Just as with the card above, I glittered the frosting.

Determined to keep it CAS style I did nothing more other than to embellish the front of the card with two accenting crystal clear sequins.

I do thank you for stopping by to read about today's two cards.  I will be back with another card using the new release on the 15th.

Nicky x
