Happy Trails - Purple Onion Designs

Another Valentine's card today for Purple Onion Designs and this time I'm using the cute T-Bird (Bear in Plane) image from the Happy Trails collection illustrated by Stacey Yacula and the bear is throwing out X's and O's amongst the clouds.   I thought this one might work well for a guy.

First task was to grab a slimline panel and mask the edges off equally and then ink blend using Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers.   I then carefully removed the mask.

The T-Bird image was stamped on Copic friendly cardstock and coloured with Copic markers, points were highlighted with a white gel pen.  I used BG09 and BG49 together with W5 and W7 for depth shading for the plane's body, such a delicious colour combo!  This was fussy cut and backed with foam tape and applied to the scene.

I die cut several white clouds using a die in my stash and applied those either directly or with foam tape. On one of them I stamped the sentiment using red ink.

For the X's and O's I used the Oliver Alpha die by Hello Bluebird Stamps.  I die cut each letter 3 times with white cardstock and a 4th time with red.  I layered these together with glue and when adding the red top layer I slight offset it to the right so a little more of the white beneath it was visible.  I adhered these to the scene.

At this point I decided there was room for more cuteness so I stamped and coloured the bird, fussy cut and applied.

For the finishing touches I used a teal gel pen to add dots and I applied two different sizes of sparkling clear sequins by Pretty Pink Posh.

The whole panel was adhered to a white cardstock base and then the card was complete.

Happy crafting!

Spread Kindness - Purple Onion Designs

For this Valentine's card I used Flynt and Goldie the boy and girl fairies from the Spread Kindness collection illustrated by Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs.  For the horizon beneath them I've used a stamp from the 'A Beautiful Day' collection and the sentiment is from the 'Essential Happy Sentiment Set'.

To create the card I first stamped the horizon on to an A2 Copic friendly panel.  I coloured this image with Copic markers YG91, YG93, YG95 and YG97.   I then stamped the image again on masking paper which I fussy cut the image, layered it over the coloured image and then ink blended the sky using Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick.   I removed the mask.

I stamped the sentiment and die cut a white cardstock frame and applied it popped up on foam tape.

On more Copic friendly cardstock I stamped Flynt and Goldie using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.   I coloured Flynt using the colours from the horizon plus E37 and E27 and I use W shades for some shading.   For Goldie I used the W's for shading and skirt and RV23, RV13 and R24 for her other clothing.   Skin tones used are  E000, E21, E11 and E04.

These images were fussy cut, backed with foam tape and applied and I added some Stickles Glitter in Diamond to the fairy wings and with that the card was complete.

Happy crafting!

Just Sayin' - Hello Bluebird Stamps

I have a sweet little Valentine's card for you today featuring one of the cuties from Hello Bluebird Stamps - Just Sayin' stamp set.

To create this card I first ink blended a panel using Distress Ink in Spun Sugar and using a cloud stencil in my stash.   This was applied to a card base.  Next I ink blended and die cut a piece of cardstock using the Grassy Knoll die by Hello Bluebird.  This was glued to the panel.

I used the Gallery Frame #4 die to die cut a mini gingham cardstock panel to create the broad but delicate frame which I backed with foam tape and applied to the panel.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped my main image and the balloon image together with some hearts from the same stamp set and coloured them with Copic markers.  Points were highlighted with a white gel pen and die cut backed with more foam tape and and applied in position.

Finally I die cut the word 'love' using the Joy & Peace Words Die by Hello Bluebird Stamps.  I die cut several times and layered up my colours starting and finishing with white with lilac layers in between.  This was applied with foam tape and with that the card was complete.

Happy crafting!

Party Parade - Hello Bluebird Stamps

I have a very fun infinity shaker card for you today featuring Party Parade by Hello Bluebird Stamps together with the Happy Birthday Words die.

Have you made an infinity shaker card before?   They are very easy so don't be intimidated and wayyyy easier than a regular shaker card.   I ink blended an A2 panel of cardstock to create a pink and blue background and I stamped musical notes from the Party Parade stamp set into the background.   I then grabbed one of my stamp storage pockets by Avery Elle that you can find HERE on Amazon but of course can buy direct from Avery Elle.

I slid my panel into the storage pocket sideways, it is a perfect snug fit and then I had fun carefully pouring in different sequins and shaker fillers until I had the look that I wanted.  Make sure these shaker elements go only on the decorated side of your panel.  I then wrapped the excess of the pocket around the back of the panel and thoroughly taped it down with the tape runner. This was then applied to a sturdy card base.

All other elements of this card are adhered directly to the front panel using tape runner tape.   To that end I first die cut the Gallery Frame #4 die and applied it and  I stamped my Party Parade images on to Copic friendly cardstock and used Copic markers to colour them.  A white gel pen was used to highlight some areas and I die cut each image and applied them to the scene.

To finish this card off I die cut some mini gingham cardstock using the Happy Birthday Words Die and adhered the letters and word into position.   With that the card is finished and let the shaking begin!

Happy crafting!

Bunny Princess - Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios

I'm back with a new card for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studios.  These are digital download stamps so you get the benefit of instant satisfaction.   Print your digital image on the cardstock of your choice and as I did with this card I printed it a second time on masking paper so that I could create the bokeh background.  This image is called Bunny Princess.

With the image printed twice I fussy cut the masking paper image and layered it over the one on my Copic friendly cardstock.  I used a stencil called Bokeh Lights by Simon Says Stamp.   I ink blended with Distress Oxides in Speckled Egg and Peacock Feathers. and then removed the mask.

I coloured my Bunny Princess image with Copic markers and I highlighted a few points with a white gel pen.   I cut down my image to a 4 1/2 inch square and die cut the frame from Mama Elephant applying it with foam tape.

Finally I stamped the sentiment from Hello Bluebird Stamps and applied it with foam tape and a grabbed a few sparkling clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and glued them for a sweet sparkle.

Balloon Rides and Country Scenes - Sunny Studio Stamps Guest Designer

Hi!   I'm back to guesting for Sunny Studio Stamps today and I have two cards for you using their most recent release.    I'm working with Balloon Rides and Country Scenes today.

To create this card I first softly ink blended a background panel and then used a little more ink diluted with a drop of water to loosely splatter the background.

Images from the super sweet Balloon Rides stamp set were stamped on to Copic friendly cardstock using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.   I used Copic markers to colour all of my images and a white gel pen to highlight certain points.

These images were then die cut using the coordinating dies and arranged into the scene on the background either directly adhering with glue or for some lovely dimension I used foam tape.

To finish up the card I took a strip of black cardstock and stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed in white.   This sentiment was also applied with foam tape further adding to the layered look.

***********************************************************************************

Moving swiftly on to my second card today and here I am using the other cute critters from the Balloon Rides stamp set together with the clouds and I've combined them with the new Country Scenes stamp and die set.

To create this card I stamped the Country Scenes image on to a white A2 panel that was Copic friendly.  I then stamped it again on some scrap paper and I fussy cut the top edge of that second stamping and created a mask which I lay over the original stamping and I held it down whilst I used a Clarity Stencil Brush to brush on some sup soft Distress Inks in pink and blue.  The mask was then discarded and I used Copic markers to colour the mountains and trees and create shadows and crevices with some shading.

I used Versamark Ink to stamp the stars and the sentiment from Balloon Rides and I heat embossed in silver so this card catches the light beautifully when it is handled.

I die cut my panel to give the faux stitched edge and then I already had my critters and cloud stamped and coloured and die cut and so I just arranged them into the scene using dimensional foam tape.   Cheeks and other points were highlighted with the white gel pen again and the panel attached to a card base.

I hope I've inspired you today, thank you for stopping by and happy crafting!

Together - Purple Onion Designs

Since the 'Together' stamp illustrated by Stacey Yacula for Purple Onion Designs was released in 2020 I've been keen to use it again due to the undeniable serious cuteness of it.  Last time I made an infinity shaker with it so I needed to do something very different this time around.

I started by stamping this one large image to an A2 panel and for the background I used Copic markers colouring in some milky skies with little breaks where the blue sky was peeking through.   I also ink blended a grassy die cut and layered that over.

I used Copic markers again to colour the four happy friends, highlighting a few points with a white gel pen.

To frame out the scene I used the Gallery Frame #1 die by Hello Bluebird, adhering directly followed by the postage stamp die frame by Avery Elle which I cut from mini gingham cardstock, backed with foam tape and carefully applied it over the first frame.

To finish up I added the two little die cut flags at the top stamping a heart to one of them (just because) and I stamped the happy birthday sentiment and applied that with foam tape.  Overall this comes across as a sweet Spring, country style card and a nice diversion from the winter weather (northern hemisphere that is).

Happy crafting!

Animal Parade - Rachelle Anne Miller Designs

Hello!   This month I am starting to design for Rachelle Anne Miller Digital Stamps.    Going forwards, I will be designing two cards a month for this talented illustrator.   Rachelle's sweet illustrations have captured my heart and the bonus here is that since they are digital you get immediate satisfaction from your purchase.  I'll tell you how I do it with this card using the Animal Parade digital stamp image.

Select and purchase your digital stamps from the website and print them onto the correct cardstock which for me was Copic friendly cardstock.   If you want to mask your image, print it a second time on to masking paper.   I use full sized sheets from Simon Says Stamp.   Before you print you can select to scale your image by shrinking or increasing the image you have bought.   Just make sure that you print your masking paper copy the same scale as the primary copy so that they match.

For this card didn't choose to mask so I simply printed it off once and then I trimmed down the piece of cardstock to a slimline panel.   I coloured my image using Copic markers and then used a pale pink shade and 'brushed' on a little background colour and I used a grey shade to add a little more texture to the ground.

Points were highlighted with a white gel pen including the prickles on the hedgehog that I then used a black pen to add more depth.

To finish up I stamped the sentiments which are from Hello Bluebird Stamps and I used a cloud die in my stash and die cut two clouds and these were applied with foam tape for some dimension.

A few little heart embellishments were glued in position and I framed out the scene using two die cuts from the Gallery Frame #5 die.   The first die cut was adhered directly and the second was applied with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by - I'll be back later in the month with a new design for Rachelle Anne Miller Creative Studio.

Beach Play - Hello Bluebird Stamps

I can't imagine for even a second why I'd feel the urge to make a warm and sunny card in the middle of a NY winter!   That's pretty much how this happened to be my first card of this new year.   This is Beach Play by Hello Bluebird Stamps together with the Ocean Waves Scene Die.

I die cut a panel of white cardstock with the Ocean Waves Scene Die.  I ink blended all the different portions to form sky, sea and sand and glued all the pieces back together again within the frame.   I then layered over the scalloped frame from the Gallery Frame #5 die.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped my Beach Play images and I used Copic markers to colour them up and a white gel pen to highlight a few points.  Images were die cut, backed with foam tape and applied to the scene to tell a story.

To finish up I dotted in some glitter dots and other dots to the sand for some texture and interest and I stamped the sentiment.   The completed panel was applied to a white cardstock base and I added a few sparkling clear sequins.

Happy crafting!
